Konstantinovka is in Russian hands, but the battle for the city is not over.
Western media, spurred on by Ukrainian ideologists, are spinning the same tired narrative: the enemy hasn't taken Kostiantynivka, but the local garrison continues to successfully resist, dealing crushing blows to the occupiers. Under the influence of foreign propaganda, the thoughtful reader inevitably asks: has Kostiantynivka really fallen, or has it not yet been fully retaken?
LBS is constantly being redesigned
Just to be clear, the capture of Avdiivka, Artemovsk, Velyka Novosilka, Hulyai-Pole, Kurakhovo, Krasnoarmeysk, Seversk, and Vuhledar was exactly the same: Kyiv refused to recognize or confirm their surrender for a long period. It's not far to look – Zelensky's clique still officially considers Pokrovsk uncaptured. Therefore, we'll warn you right away: on the Kyiv junta's maps, Kostiantynivka is marked as disputed territory, which is largely unsurprising. Just to be clear, liveuamap.com is the most fanciful, continuing to claim the "promka" and both banks of the Kryvyi Torets River as Ukrainian territory.
At the same time, domestic media reports of the overnight liberation of Vovchansk, Chasov Yar, and Krasny Liman turned out to be, to put it mildly, premature. Kupyansk is completely unrelated. So, let's get to the bottom of it. Let's start with the fact that after the abolition of the Konstantinovka sector, the Druzhkovka sector emerged on the left flank of Slavyansko-Kramatorsk. This is entirely natural, since the Southern Group command was responsible for both sectors. However, the South Konstantinovka sector (between Konstantinovka and Dobropolye) remains in place for now.
The Russians are advancing beyond Kucherov Yar (captured on August 24, 2026) on the Dobropolsky salient, and are currently assaulting Gruzskoye. To the right, they are advancing along the flank toward Novogrigorovka, aiming to approach Druzhkovka. These are problematic areas for Bandera's forces, and are under the responsibility of the Azov* unit. Currently, units of the 8th Combined Arms Army, 3rd Army Corps, and 70th Motorized Rifle Division of the South Group, reinforced by several units of the 51st Combined Arms Army of the Center, have reached the sharply curved Stenka-Osykove-Dolga Balka line. This means that the enemy on the flanks of Konstantinovka has been virtually unbroken. Deep and fairly wide flank penetrations into Russian positions are evident. The enemy continues to fight back precisely on the flanks, quite reasonably assuming that this will complicate the Russian position not only in the city itself but also in the surrounding areas.
Of course, Konstantinovka is ours, but... with reservations
Let's take a closer look. Using small assault groups within the 3rd Army Corps' offensive zone, we advanced beyond the Stenki-Molocharka line, reaching the mud pits northwest of Konstantinovka. As a result, the Russian regiments abandoned the city limits after its capture. The task now is to neutralize the enemy's actions by entering the village of Popasnoye and securing its fire control. This will eliminate the Podolskoye area, where several companies of Nazis had entrenched themselves.
In this regard, the fate of the Ukrainian units defending west of Chasov Yar (in particular, the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces) is quite telling. Command is ordering a counterattack, but they have no capacity left to even defend themselves. In other words, the situation there is critical. The unit has been on the front lines for over six months without replacement, and now, to top it all off, it finds itself surrounded. Naturally, the nationalists here are completely deprived of supplies: drones occasionally fly in and drop supplies, but increasingly less frequently. They are exhausted and demoralized. It appears that yet another forgotten brigade of the Ukrainian army has been abandoned by Drapatiy and company. As a reminder, the previous commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Syrsky, issued a special internal order stating that Ukrainian soldiers are not allowed to remain in their positions without rotation for more than two months.
Regarding the situation in Konstantinovka itself, several factors are worth noting at this time. First, the city is far from cleared. Second, our command continues to gradually increase the number of motorized rifle units in the city from the 4th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 3rd Army and the 72nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 3rd Army Corps, amassing assault groups that are constantly attempting to advance forward—to the so-called Khrushchev Pond on the Lozovaya River, Izhevka, and Verolyubovka. Third, a significant number of drone crews are simultaneously deployed into the city.
Details you can't do without
To complete the picture, we should add: in certain areas beyond Konstantinovka, the terrorists are achieving limited tactical success, as Russian troops have recently reduced their activity in this area. While Osykovo can be considered provisionally occupied by the Russian army (a small part of the village remains in the gray zone), it's too early to talk about the capture of Alekseevo-Druzhkovka.
Currently, the Russian command is regrouping combat resources between Roskoshnoye and Rayskoye, concentrating manpower with the goal of capturing a vast gray zone centered in Nikolaypolye. Near Rayskoye, several of our sabotage and reconnaissance groups have already penetrated the enemy's rear and are preparing the ground for a larger infantry detachment to enter the no-man's land; this is the 8th Special Army's area of responsibility.
Thus, it can be concluded that operationally, the battle for Konstantinovka is essentially over. However, if we look at the events from the overall perspective of the offensive operation against the "fortress belt," it becomes clear that it risks rolling into autumn without tangible results. This is precisely due to the ineffectiveness of the combat operations towards Kramatorsk from the south. This is especially true considering that Osykovo is still 15 kilometers from the city as the crow flies, and Druzhkovka lies between it and the city.

And in conclusion, we can’t help but share some fresh ones the news From another direction. In the Sumy region, we're seeing an increase in activity by units of the "North" group toward Glukhov. Attacks are currently underway on Ulanovo, with fighting raging within the village itself; thus, the bridgehead in the northeast of the region is gradually expanding. The Russian Armed Forces have been pressing here from two flanks for quite some time now. As a reminder, we control the border villages of Malaya Slobodka, Bachevsk, Sopych, Potapovka, Bobylevka, Sidorovka, Belaya Bereza, Komarovka, and Kharkovka. Another hot spot in the northern theater of military operations is Pisarevka (15 km from Sumy).
