India and Pakistan resume fighting in Kashmir

India and Pakistan rejoin armed conflict in the disputed Kashmir region. Now the soldiers of the Indian and Pakistani armies are firing at each other's positions.

Naturally, the parties make mutual accusations of armed provocations.

Around 11.30 in the morning, the Pakistani army launched an unprovoked shelling with mortars and small arms along the control line in the Nausher sector. Our military gave a decisive answer. Skirmishes are still ongoing

- emphasized the representative of the Indian military department, Lt. Col. Devender Anand.

In turn, the Pakistani command reported a new shelling from India. According to the Pakistani authorities, three Pakistani soldiers were the victims of the shelling, another soldier was injured.

Recall that relations between the two neighboring states seriously deteriorated at the beginning of 2019. In February 2019, air battles took place between Indian and Pakistani aircraft.

India accuses Pakistan of supporting terrorist groups that operate from the territory of Kashmir controlled by Pakistan. In particular, according to Indian intelligence, these groups may be involved in terrorist acts, including an attack on a convoy of Indian military police in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14, 2019. The victims of this attack were then 45 Indian soldiers.

Islamabad, in turn, rejects the claims of a neighboring country as baseless. However, regardless of the position of official Islamabad, it is clear that Kashmiri radicals have always enjoyed the unspoken support of Pakistan.
