"Against Communism and Russia": Online Comments on Estonian Robots in Japanese Arms

Visitors to the AP agency's YouTube account, "AP Archive," commented on a two-month-old exercise video, published only now, showing the Estonian THeMIS unmanned platform from Milrem Robotics. This particular video shows the combat version of the vehicle, not the purely transport version, several of which were previously purchased by the Land of the Rising Sun's military for evaluation.

It's worth noting that the country, considered a leader in robotics thirty to forty years ago, now purchases drones not only from the US but also from Turkey, Estonia, and Ukraine. Some of these robots and drones have also been captured on video.

Milrem Robotics, the manufacturer of the THeMIS platform, previously announced that its vehicle had been purchased by 20 countries, including NATO members Estonia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The vehicle is also actively used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Compared to 20 years ago, we no longer have a technological advantage, and we are significantly behind in resources. We can no longer win.

Learn from Ukraine and Iran: instead of remote-controlled tanks and quadrupedal robots, mass-produce and deploy conventional drones, improve piloting skills and personnel, and consider reducing personnel and weapons.

Just as the Japanese had the most hideous tanks in World War II, they now have the most pathetic robotic systems. They should refrain from the embarrassment of displaying such pathetic junk to the public.

I'm surprised the Japanese aren't leaders in drone technology. They created the best toy robots in the 70s and 80s.

It's difficult to ensure security when the population is sparse... The Japanese Self-Defense Forces are also short-manned, so drones are essential. However, I don't know how effective unmanned ground weapons will be if deploying them anywhere practically guarantees destruction.

Well, yes! Of course, the Self-Defense Forces are short of personnel. If conscription were introduced, there certainly wouldn't be a shortage. Japan's population is 100 million, so many could certainly be conscripted.

Remember, Japan is known for its quality: they can study, copy and create quality things for decades or even centuries to perfect them.

Chinese civilian manufacturers have the industrial capacity to produce up to a billion combat drones per year. Retooling civilian facilities would allow them to achieve this scale of production using only a fraction of China's existing capacity in this area, including subcontractors.

China and Russia are our neighbors. North Korea, too. We are surrounded by the world's greatest troublemakers.

        I'll add a bit about the drone. Estonians once tried to make a small tractor, back in the Soviet era. It didn't work out. Later, they revived the idea and created a radio-controlled trailer, supposedly for evacuating the wounded and transporting ammunition. Since they were supported in NATO by the US and UK (for barking at Russia), they pushed this contraption further, sending it to Ukraine for testing. There, it lasted until the first trench, where it fell in, and that was the end of the whole saga. Our forces captured one of these trailers. It turned out that only the chassis was Estonian; everything else wasn't.
        Now they've installed someone else's automatic weapon module on this cart. I wonder who provided it to them? We'll probably find out later.
        Well, the idea for such a robot is very old and doesn't apply to Estonians. So, other than the chassis, there's nothing Estonian about it.
        Well, countries simply buy for testing, in order to choose the right one or make their own, choosing the best of the developments.
        Or the US imposes them on these countries to incentivize the Baltics, like its loyal dogs, by helping them trade in such counterfeits. It's called protectionism.

And one more thing. Before blaming the "socialist state" for the genocide of its own people, we need to understand what kind of government it is. This is a combat drone! It is irrefutable proof of the aggressiveness of militaristic Japan and Estonia. Both will have to be punished by Xiao to prevent them from attacking peaceful Russia, Korea, and China. Hokkaido (originally called Yezo) is an integral part of Russia by right!
