USA: Russia will pay for support of Maduro in Venezuela

0
The United States is trying to put pressure on Russia in order to get Moscow to abandon the support of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. This time, the US Special Representative for Venezuela, Elliot Abrams, made a menacing statement.

An American official claims that Russia and Cuba must pay a high price for supporting Maduro.

None of the top officials in the administration doubts that we will force them to pay for it,

- Abrams stressed on CNN.

As for the future of Venezuela, Abrams expressed confidence that Maduro is unlikely to be able to maintain the post of president of the country for more than a year. According to the American special representative, Maduro can either resign himself from the post, or the Venezuelan military will help him to do this.

It is worth noting that threats against Russia due to the support of Venezuela are becoming more frequent. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, for example, not so long ago threatened Russia with new economic sanctions if Moscow does not stop supporting the Maduro regime.

Thus, we see that Washington adheres to the former policy double standards, allowing himself to support anyone and anywhere, for example, the same regime of Petro Poroshenko in Ukraine or the separatists in Kosovo, but does not allow such actions on the part of Russia, China or other states.
