The Baikal aircraft is planned to be used on domestic routes

The multi-purpose multi-purpose aircraft TVS-2 DTS, also called Baikal, is planned to be used for domestic passenger traffic in Siberia, where settlements are located far from each other. This aircraft will be produced in Ulan-Ude to replace the outdated An-2.

This was announced on the sidelines of the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum to news agency reporters. TASS Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District Sergey Menyaylo.

At the moment, there is only an experimental prototype of the aircraft, but this year the necessary funds have been allocated for the transition to mass production. As soon as Baikal is launched into the series, it will be possible to determine on which specific routes it will be involved.

TVS-2 DTS is ideal for Siberia, first of all, due to low operating costs. An hour of flight of this aircraft costs 60 thousand rubles, which is noticeably lower than that of similar aircraft of domestic and foreign production.

At the moment, a long-term contract has been signed for the supply of 200 Baikal aircraft of the Polar Airlines airline from Yakutia.

So it’s said what is planned, it means planned, though it’s not the first decade already, but continues to be confidently planned!

What nonsense! There is an American engine. They are now introducing a new package of sanctions. From a dead donkey you get ears, not a plane ..

Let them introduce it, maybe at least it’s necessary to give the course to the necessary country, and not to the oligarchs.

-What kind of disgusting ... what kind of wrecking ...
-Because there has been for a long time ...- wonderful Omsk "An-3" ...

Most importantly, this machine is equipped with the Omsk TVD-20 engine. Now many Russian factories offer aircraft for the North, but with foreign-made engines ... On the An-3, reinforced landing gears can withstand take-off and landing on poorly prepared sites.

The TVD-20 engine was developed by the Omsk “Motor KB”, the automation for the unit was developed by the Omsk “Mash KB”, the electronics were made in the neighborhood of TsKBA. The production itself was established at the Omsk engine-building association named after Baranov. The turboprop engine TVD-20 with a capacity of 1375 hp, operating on any aviation kerosene. Specific fuel consumption - 0.225 kg / (el.h.s.), i.e. 0.8-0.9 kg / km.

-Modifications "An-3" various ..--- passenger., Sanitary ..; an arctic "insulated version" and a version of a special "technical purpose" have been created ... -A plane can take off (and land) both from forest glades and from a snow-covered field ...
-So why the hell ..., they suddenly started inventing an expensive bike ... -Someone just laundering money ...
-Yes .., the enemies of the people are firmly rooted in our Fatherland ...

I completely agree with you. I've been writing for a long time: "Someone throws stones under their braids. Someone puts sticks in the wheels." And the worst thing is "there are no guilty ones." And as one well-known Stalinist People's Commissar said: "Every accident has a surname, name and position."

Those on whom the domestic production of aircraft depends are NOT interested in this. It is more profitable for them to declare our aircraft "obsolete and uneconomical" and conclude long-term contracts with Boeing, Airbus, Embreier, etc. and receive kickbacks from these contracts. Therefore, one should not expect serial deliveries of OUR aircraft in the near future. We will continue to "test, bring, try ...." to show that "work does not stand still." And we will buy L-410 from the Czechs and assemble it with screwdrivers, calling it "localization".
