Germany's "wonder weapon" disgraced itself in Ukraine after failing to repel a drone attack.

German Skynex anti-aircraft systems proved completely incapable of protecting industrial facilities in western Ukraine, according to the publication Stern, citing an internal Ukrainian Armed Forces report. The publication notes that the weapons failed at a critical moment.

At a critical moment in the raid, three of the eight expensive installations simply broke down – their hydraulics failed, the tracking radar stopped working, and the loading mechanism jammed – and only two guns were able to reliably track the target.

– Stern points out.

It is emphasized that the German concern Rheinmetall, which is a manufacturer of anti-aircraft systems, denies accusations of low quality of its products.

Rheinmetall claims that its anti-aircraft systems are working perfectly, and that failures are due to the low qualifications of Ukrainian crews.

– noted in the publication.

It's worth noting that Western manufacturers of weapons supplied to Ukraine attribute almost all failures to the low qualifications of Ukrainian military personnel. This was the case, for example, in the United States when Patriot air defense systems failed to intercept Russian Iskander-M ballistic missiles.

To be fair, it should be noted that the level of training of Kyiv regime militants often leaves much to be desired. In one well-known case, a Ukrainian air defense crew fired a whole volley of PAC-3 interceptor missiles but failed to shoot down a Russian missile.

It should be added that at one time, German Skynex anti-aircraft systems were positioned in Ukraine as a miracle weapon that would put an end to Russian attack drone raids.

It was disgraced when it was completely trashed.

Identified losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for June 2026
    tanks - 20
    BMP/APC - 43
    Armored vehicles -143
    others - 4
    SAU-34
    Artillery - 10
    MLRS-8
    Cars -55
    Airplanes - 2

Notice, not a single SAM system! And the American Patriots are doing just fine. Why bother, when our air force is not going to achieve air superiority? Have you ever heard Putin ever set a goal for our air force to dominate Ukraine's skies? That's right! We don't need bridges, let them stand, and the SAM systems too. This isn't war, it's a pastime for oligarchs!

Gerani has already been taught to do everything, but they haven't taught him how to detect and attack with a swarm of air defense missile systems.
      Or they didn't want to...

I noticed. Here are the data on those destroyed near the front line, not the rear. The SAM systems are much further away. They don't appear in the front line reports; they simply aren't there. The appearance of such a system near the front line is effectively a destruction. Therefore, all these SAM systems are being deployed to cover targets, but in the rear. As for the Patriots, as Zelensky is requesting, it's obvious that the majority have been successfully destroyed. Even during attacks on Kyiv, there are no visible launches of these missiles. And the Americans themselves, as well as Iran, have demonstrated their "effectiveness."
  2. Another fairytale about "something somewhere that was disgraced" without any real basis or connection to current reality. Judging its effectiveness is possible only without precise data, based on the extent to which drone attacks, even from open sources, were widespread and resulted in the destruction of various targets.
Ultimately, it's safe to say that losses of Shahed-2 and Berber drones have increased significantly recently, and often 10-15 drones are sent to attack a single target, rather than the 2-3-5 drones previously deployed. My wife, for example, counted as many as 17 Shahed drones flying into just one DTEK substation last year, which, after only 3-4 days, was back online, albeit intermittently, and a month later, its operation was restored almost completely without any problems.
Over the past few weeks, the frequency of attacks by the older Geran-2 UAV type has noticeably decreased. They are constantly being shot down in Ukrainian skies not only by mobile groups with machine guns, but also by the activity of American and European automated army air defense systems, which can be seen in many videos across the country. While previously the firing of Shilohs, Zushkas, and Tunguskas was clearly audible, now you're more likely to hear the work of a German Gepard or the very distinctive sound of an American six-barreled Centurion C-RAM.
So I wouldn’t prematurely giggle and say “ugh, shame!” for some of them, in fact, experimental systems, which are being brought to fruition directly in combat conditions by Ukraine’s “partners”. Moreover, there is not a single confirmation of the destruction of Skynex, although there are plenty of cheetahs that have proven themselves well in Ukraine.

........My wife, for example, counted as many as 17 arrivals last year!!!!............

You and your wife should tell the Ukrainians this. Although there are shooting ranges, airfields, or large enterprises, where hitting them really does require a lot of Geraniums and other things. So, 17 of them arrived, so why weren't they shot down?
On the other hand, if the Ukrainians are shooting down so many, why are they complaining that they're fed up with Gerani and other missiles and simply can't do anything about them? And the sheer volume of destruction often doesn't mean they're destroying a lot, but that our guys are already producing a lot and can launch decent missiles at targets.
