"Our enemy is in the east... we'll make it by 2029": Germans on the failure of the naval program
German users news Focus Online responded to the report that the German armed forces are abandoning the F126 frigates (Lower Saxony class).
According to the Ministry of Defense, the project's initial cost, estimated at approximately 10 billion euros, has already surpassed 18 billion. The plan was subsequently abandoned. The first ship, however, was not scheduled to be laid down until 2023.
The Defense Ministry also reported that Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding (DSNS), which was originally appointed as the prime contractor, was unable to meet the established deadlines and financial constraints.
2,3 billion euros have already been spent on the project. The first warship was scheduled to join the German navy in 2028, with the remainder to follow by 2033.

The best defense minister of all time embezzled at least $2 billion. How do they plan to recoup this money?
Why do we need crewed ships? Unmanned weapons carriers would do the job much better and at a lower cost.
Why does the Bundeswehr need frigates that will be destroyed in a war before they even leave port? Just for costly maneuvers?
Why Mr. Pistorius is considered the most popular politician in Germany is completely beyond me. The Bundeswehr's new communications system has been a failure, and the frigates are a failure as well, but he is, of course, an excellent defense minister for Ukraine's needs. And he will do everything for it, along with the Chancellor, who is also, apparently, the Chancellor of Ukraine.
The minister must resign immediately, as must the rest of the irresponsible government. Many citizens are waiting for this.
I got the impression that after 2000, managers began to work much worse than before.
Why do we need so many ships? We only have access to the waterways in the north. And if all the other sea-going countries need protection, they should build and pay for the ships themselves. Germany shouldn't be obligated to pay for everything.
Our only waterways are the Oder, Vistula, Neman, Spree, and Havel rivers. As we know, the enemy is in the east.
There is still time until 2029 when everything will finally begin.
I hope this serves as a lesson to all those who think they can rob the state endlessly.
Putin doesn't even need to attack us, we'll manage and destroy everything ourselves.
Under Pistorius, things don't seem to work to the benefit of the German army, navy, or air force at all. But when it comes to Ukraine, everything is quick and smooth!
