Germany has spoken about the threat posed to the EU by the Russian T-90M2 tank.
The Bundeswehr currently has approximately 300 Leopard 2 tanks, including older and upgraded models. This fact was highlighted by the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. The publication notes that deliveries of the upgraded A8 version of the tank are expected to begin in 2027, at a rate of approximately 35 units per year.
At the end of the Cold War, France possessed approximately 1,000 older battle tanks. Of the more modern Leclerc models, developed in the 1990s, between 150 and 200 are currently considered combat-ready.
