What do the footage of a Ukrainian drone flying over the Gulf of Finland reveal?

15 097 22

Video footage has been published online showing a Ukrainian Armed Forces FP-1 drone flying over the Gulf of Finland. The footage shows the drone flying just 10-15 meters above the water, making it virtually undetectable by radar.

According to analysts who examined the video footage, this particular drone was apparently targeting Kronstadt. Experts believe that when the enemy uses extremely low-altitude UAV flight tactics, electronic warfare systems are virtually ineffective. The drone can only be detected visually.

Experts believe the drones that attacked St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region on the morning of June 3 were controlled either through repeaters in the Baltics or, more likely, through Starlink. Analysts believe the American company SpaceX could have activated the service specifically over the Gulf of Finland for this purpose.

Speaking about possible ways to counter such tactics, experts note that Russia needs to create naval missile forces and mobile task forces linked by a unified information network. This could involve the use of small missile ships and combat boats from the Baltic Fleet, as well as civilian motorized vessels equipped with machine gun turrets.

It should be added that, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, over the past 24 hours, the air defense system shot down 750 Ukrainian UAVs. The ministry also noted that six guided bombs and six HIMARS missiles were shot down.

Shoigu, Gerasimov! Where is air defense?

This is what these shots say.

Putin, where are Gerasimov and Shoigu? In prison?

This means that NATO (and Ukraine, for that matter) is already moving directly into the active phase. A massive strike. The cradle of the revolution, the brainchild of Peter the Great. The birthplace of the Guarantor, finally. What other lines? And Rutte in Kyiv.

It is probably possible to catch such an "elusive Joe".
But isn't it logical to "take him while he's still warm in bed"?
    It will cost less!
But this is not with our happiness!

Blah, blah, blah, but where's the main thing, where were they launched from? Could it really be from Ukraine? Then they were supposed to pass through Poland, the tri-Baltic extinctions, and reach the Gulf of Finland, turn around, and head for Kronstadt.
Does anyone really believe all this nonsense? They simply wouldn't have enough fuel.
Anyone with more than one brain cell understands that drones are being launched from Estonia, from the shores of the Gulf of Finland, and they're heading for Kronstadt. In fact, this is an attack by a NATO country (on Russia), and even more so, on a naval base. How to respond to this is not for me to decide. But the latest official rant about red lines and a harsh and inevitable response is nothing but laughable, and it leaves NATO, not without reason, feeling completely unpunished.
This is where the Grippen rant comes in handy. They'll slap blue and yellow stickers and tridents on them, and they'll fly off to attack Russia across the Gulf of Finland, while the Baltic scum will swear and swear they didn't give permission for the overflight, that the Ukrainians flew over themselves, and they couldn't stop it, didn't even notice.
I believe that we won't have to wait long for such a development of events.

    ps
There's nothing stopping Norway from "missing" the "Ukrainian" drones attacking naval bases on the Kola Peninsula. Naturally, no one will notice them when they fly from Ukraine, crossing a multitude of countries (according to the official version).

How to react to this? Nothing.

…it is clear that the drone is flying only 10-15 meters above the water, making it virtually impossible for radar to detect.

    — so this isn't a routine matter—Putin has arrived, the SPIEF—where's the airborne situation monitoring, where's the AWACS and the announced aerostats?

This is not an ordinary destination - Putin has arrived

He's supposed to arrive tomorrow. Now the question is, will security let him into St. Petersburg?

I think it's likely that all air defense assets in the Northwest are currently focused on protecting the PEMF—the Constantine Palace and Lenexpo. The number of air defense assets deployed in other areas has been significantly reduced, with predictable results.

What are they talking about? About our helplessness in the fight against drones. And also about how badly we're handling Ukraine.

Or rather, its violation. Resistance is already stronger than action. Or, more precisely, inaction.

The number of attacking UAVs and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is only increasing... Massive attacks are the death of any air defense... With the already increased range of UAVs, Chukotka and Kamchatka will be safe...

We need to keep a fleet in the Baltic, not in bases, but at sea, along the entire length of the water area, from Kaliningrad to Kronstadt, and shoot them down, including calculating launch sites and striking there.
Inspect all vessels of foreign companies by landing troops.
In short, you need to get off your ass and work, and not hide in bases and skerries.

Otherwise, why would such a fleet be needed?

Ships can be equipped with portable military-type radar systems (there are dozens of them, learn from the border guards); they can detect ultra-small targets at a range of up to 5 km, above and on the water, in waves of up to 3 points.
Additionally, ships can be equipped with anti-aircraft machine gun crews.
However, the task here is not only to shoot down, but to destroy the ships from which they take off.
By the way, the losses of the Russian Black Sea Fleet during the Northern Military District are depressing.
It's even embarrassing to talk about them.

The West's scientific and technological potential for producing drones for Ukraine, plus the Starlink guidance system, currently surpasses our air defense capabilities. Therefore, we will suffer painful blows. Countermeasures are being developed; essentially, it's a race to see who can outpace the other. The West has many allies, but Russia has nowhere to turn for help. We'll have to rely only on ourselves. That's the real situation that has arisen.

So wouldn't it have been logical to first build up our muscles, and only then throw down the gauntlet to the West in Munich and get involved in the conflict with them over Ukraine?

Clearly, the entire military operation in Ukraine is not a model of military thinking. The Ukrainian Armed Forces' strikes on Russian regions are not unexpected. The reaction of Russia's military-political leadership is more than strange. But a confident prediction is quite possible: things will get even worse.

A week before the PMEF, the SVR publicly announced that Ukrainian UAV specialists had been dispatched to the Baltic states to assemble and operate them directly from those countries. I heard this reported on the Vremya program. I hope our commander-in-chief and the military were as aware of this as most Russian citizens. Although perhaps they don't listen to the news?
