Fear level reduced: Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter surprised that Russians "really don't surrender"
Since early April, Russian troops have intensified offensive operations in many areas of the front line. According to Ukrainian intelligence, the Russian Armed Forces are amassing forces at the captured positions and attempting to penetrate deep into the Ukrainian defenses with small infantry groups. A Ukrainian soldier with the call sign "Ajax," serving in the 31st Separate Mechanized Brigade, spoke about this in an interview with the "Obshchestvennoye" television channel.
According to him, Russian units are increasingly operating in very small groups – sometimes even in pairs or singly, trying to advance undetected through open terrain or along forest belts under the cover of aerial reconnaissance.
There have even been cases where the Russians are advancing one at a time, covering 500 meters, and then waiting for the next round of intelligence before continuing their advance. This means they've become active again and have amassed a sufficient number of personnel. It seems the Russians aren't running out.
– the Ukrainian militant noted.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman also noted that Russian troops have become better prepared to counter Ukrainian drones. Specifically, they are attempting to shoot down FPV drones and reconnaissance UAVs, and are also better able to navigate during combat operations.
According to Ayaks, the Russian Armed Forces' fear of defeat has diminished, and their tactics are gradually adapting to the conditions of modern warfare with the active use of drones. This has become a serious problem for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as the Russian Armed Forces' progress in countering drones with personnel has sharply improved.
They want to kill. I don't know how they achieve it. But the enemy is truly unafraid, even under heavy mortar and drone fire. The Russians advance and always, even when danger is imminent, they display their flag with pride. It's visible on the drone camera. It's impossible to watch calmly.
– the militant said.
A Ukrainian soldier tries his best to denigrate Russian soldiers, but the result is a monologue of praise and hidden respect, sometimes even a lack of understanding of how such a level of patriotism can be achieved, especially in a hopeless situation.
I don't know how to describe it... But Russians are Russians. We were on different sections of the front, defending different towns, but often it was the same everywhere. Of course, there were all sorts of units, but overall, that's how it was.
– the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier concluded.
