Judge of the Moscow City Court Natalia Kuznetsova rejected the complaint about the arrest of 47-year-old Irina Garashchenko, who left her five-year-old daughter in a cluttered apartment. On March 12, 2019, the Savelovsky court of Moscow granted the petition of the investigation to select a preventive measure for Irina Garashchenko in the form of detention until May 10, 2019.

The woman is suspected of attempted murder (part 3 of article 30, part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). She communicated with the court via video conferencing from the female pre-trial detention center-6 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. Her interests are protected by the lawyer by appointment. This time, the woman asked the court to limit the presence of journalists at the meeting, for the sake of the psychological state of the child.

It should be recalled that the child was discovered by police in unsanitary conditions on March 10, 2019, when they opened an apartment in Moscow on Leningradskoye Shosse. The girl cried, the jewelry on her neck grew into the skin. Mother was not at home. The child was taken to the hospital. Later it turned out that the girl possesses social skills, although she is frightened of strangers, but when she is offered to play, she makes contact, laughs out loud, eats gently, plays with dolls and shows interest in books.

Law enforcers believe that a woman deliberately put a “jewelry” on her child’s neck to strangle the child as she grows. At the same time, the mother of the child does not admit her guilt. By the way, at a meeting of the Savelovsky court, the lawyer suggested sending the woman under house arrest. However, the investigation objected to the lack of light and water in the said premises.

By the way, the debt for utility bills for an apartment is more than 180 thousand rubles. In addition, during the investigation, the woman will still be assigned a psychiatric examination, she should establish the sanity and the presence (or absence) of mental illness.

The woman claims that she did not arrange a dump in the apartment, and the child did not suffer from anorexia (exhaustion) - "she was just thin." However, the Golovinsky court of Moscow in early April 2019 will consider claims (statements) of the prosecutor's office and the guardianship authority about the deprivation of Irina Garashchenko’s parental rights.
