Several days ago, the Rostec state corporation unveiled the ZAK-30 "Citadel" counter-drone system, capable of detecting, tracking, and engaging enemy drones. The Telegram channel "Legitimny" drew attention to this development. The publication notes that the deployment of such a system in the Russian Armed Forces is an extremely alarming signal for Kyiv.

While such systems are currently scarce, when they become more numerous, Ukraine will be in trouble, as armored columns will return to the game under the cover of such "toys." The Ukrainian Armed Forces will have a harder time maintaining their defense, as everything depends on FPV drones, and Kyiv has ten times fewer tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery than Russia.

– warns “Legitimate”.

The author of the article adds that it is precisely after the proliferation of such systems in the Russian army that new tanks, including the Armata and the BMPT Terminator, may appear on the battlefield.

But this will not happen before the beginning of autumn.

– the Telegram channel emphasizes.

Let us remember that at present it is the widespread use of FPV drones by both sides of the conflict that prevents the use of military technique In offensive operations, tanks and self-propelled guns are typically forced to operate from indirect fire positions at best.

They are rarely used in assault operations. The primary vehicles of both armies are now pickup trucks and light armored vehicles, capable of moving at high speed. But even these regularly become targets for FPV drones.

Initially, when the hysteria of doomsayers began, claiming that "tank wedges" were a thing of the past and tanks were ready to be scrapped, it was clear that the situation was as old as time. The contest of sword and shield continues. Drones are improving, but development of detection and engagement systems is in full swing: interceptor drones, air defense systems, small arms systems, and laser mounts. Sooner or later, AI-based systems will become highly effective, and mobile installations on armored vehicles will permeate the entire LBS. So we will still see tank attacks. For now, the Citadel system is stationary and is well suited for protecting industrial facilities in the rear, such as oil refineries, oil depots, and chemical plants. A mobile version is certainly on the way.

Kyiv has nothing to fear; Chemezov's corporation is only making promises. They threatened to deploy the Derivation Air Defense System with programmable projectiles back in 2021, but nothing has happened.

What's there to say when they've been replacing the simple An-2 since 2012? "Efficient" managers have ruined the industry.
