US Congress approves opposition to Russian energy supplies to Europe

1
Recently we Reported about the Kremlin’s tough reaction to the possibility of imposing US sanctions against Nord Stream 2. And so it became known that the House of Representatives (lower house of parliament) of the US Congress approved the bill "on European energy security and diversification."

For this bill to become law, the Senate (upper house of parliament) of the US Congress must approve it, and then sign the president. But given that the bill openly counteracts energy supplies from Russia to Europe (two of Washington’s competitors on the world stage), it’s already a matter of time before the bill takes effect.

With this bill, the Americans are trying to reduce the dependence of Europeans on Russian gas. At the same time, the investment participation of US companies in the European energy infrastructure is encouraged. This is how Washington is very worried about Europeans.

Americans verbally welcome and declare increased competition in the European gas market. However, in reality, they are only trying to push their expensive liquefied natural gas (LNG) onto the European market, instead of cheap Russian gas (both pipeline and LNG), and at the same time their Technology (production, transportation, regasification and others), instead of existing European technologies. In Europe, they all understand this very well and are unlikely to voluntarily agree to such a “partnership”.

There is no doubt that Washington will try to realize its intentions by all available means. After all, the bill provides not only diplomatic efforts, there is also direct support for the construction of pipelines, which should help Washington in realizing its goals.

It must be recalled that earlier we Reportedas Gazprom first talked about the American LNG threat.

No one said it would be easy. Now the hybrid war has clearly shifted to the gas sector and has become global; Europe is just a small stretch. But you can’t play it. And the chances of victory are great: all Russian gas projects, upon successful completion, will drown the United States in its own LNG.
