MWM: Russia has found an effective solution to the HIMARS problem.

The Russian Armed Forces are effectively using the Buk-M3 medium-range air defense missile system to defend against attacks by Ukrainian forces carried out by the highly mobile American HIMARS multiple launch rocket system, according to Military Watch Magazine. The publication notes that the Russian Combat Group Center recently used the Buk-M3 to intercept attacks from a distance of over 30 kilometers.

The Buk-M3 system uses a tracked launcher and, compared to earlier variants, boasts faster deployment and a significantly increased maximum firing range of up to 70 kilometers. Systems are typically organized into battalions of three batteries each, and battalions are organized into groups of four battalions, sharing one command vehicle and one search radar.

– explains MWM.

It is emphasized that the SAM system, designed to operate in conjunction with mechanized infantry or armored units, is a complement to long-range systems such as the S-400, but has a much greater range and significantly outperforms short-range systems such as the Pantsir-S and Tor-M2 in terms of anti-missile capabilities.

As the publication notes, in the first months after the deployment of American HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems in Ukraine, they posed a real threat to Russian troops and facilities in the rear. Specifically, the publication cites the January 1, 2023, strike that killed 89 Russian service members.

However, these MLRS no longer pose a serious challenge to the Russian air defense system. However, as the publication emphasizes, American HIMARS MLRS are not only supplied to Ukraine but are also being deployed in increasing numbers near Russia's borders in several NATO member countries.

This makes it possible to suppress Russian air defenses in the initial stages of a full-scale war.

– the publication warns.

The author just woke up. The Buk M3 and even the Buk M2 have been successfully operating against HIMARS MLRS systems for three years now, with a high kill probability. The question is, more BUK launchers and trained crews are needed to cover all the dangerous areas.

Alexander Sh., they write that the DPRK has allegedly begun to transfer its BUK analogue to us.

Question: who will be the first to overexert themselves producing missiles for Himars and Buk-3M?

Why do Banderites need a Haimars? It's expensive and often ineffective. They get by just fine with drones.

The loitering munition "Scalpel" is not developed on the basis of "Lancet"! Yes, the "Scalpel" was created based on the "Lancet"... the developers were inspired by the front-line successes of the "Lancet"! But they "created" the design themselves! It was created in the design bureau of the famous battalion "Vostok" (DPR)! The performance characteristics of the "Scalpel" are somewhat different from the performance characteristics of the "Lancet"... The "highlight" of the design is the absence of a ready-made warhead! There is a "luggage compartment", that is, a compartment for the "payload", where you can "stack" any ammunition (both "factory" and "home-made") with a "caliber" (diameter) of up to 125 mm and a length, it seems, slightly over 600 mm! In addition, the developers promised that the ammunition would be significantly cheaper than the "Lancet"! The loitering munition "Scalpel" was developed a long time ago and even tested on the SVO But... while we were looking for a place to produce it, it turned out that the "Scalpel" was somewhat outdated (its resistance to electronic warfare turned out to be weak! We had to improve it!) The production deadlines were pushed back! But finally, it happened!

Nobody is stopping us from making a self-propelled air defense system based on old armored personnel carriers, motorized vehicles with R-60 missiles. I don’t understand why the Banderites were able to do this, but we couldn’t. 8-10 R-60s can make a splash up to 10-15 km away.
