America encroached on Russian independence? Let him wait for an answer!
The Federation Council decided to give Washington an answer to the ill-fated “Kremlin report”. Russian senators intend to draft a law on Russian sovereignty: a future document will consolidate the concept of interference in sovereignty.
A provisional commission of the Federation Council for the protection of state sovereignty is developing a bill that will become Moscow’s response to the US Kremlin report. The bill, according to RBC sources, will determine the very concept of interference in sovereignty.
The legislative initiative proceeds from the facts of interference by foreign states in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation and is based on the principle of a mirror response aimed at counteracting outside interference. One of the primary measures will be the consolidation of the concept of “sovereignty” in the new law, and along with it the exact definition of “interference”.
It is assumed that senators will define external interference in the internal affairs of a state as "illegal attempts" to influence decisions of state bodies. The wording "illegal" means that such attempts are not based on the principles of international law. External interference is essentially aimed at disrupting the natural course of events political process. Accordingly, sovereignty is the internal sovereignty of the state. And everything that threatens such sovereignty from the outside is recognized as illegal and disruptive of the political process, that is, "interference".
Intervention will probably also mean the activities of any state, legal or natural person, attempting to change the foundations of the constitutional system of Russia.
To consider such a law as an answer to the “Kremlin report” of the American Ministry of Finance, we add that senators should adhere to the stated principle of mirroring. And specularity is really taken into account.
It is assumed that the current "intervention" will be considered the sanctions that could be imposed against the Russians.
In addition, the activities of Russian non-profit organizations receiving funding from abroad can be considered a threat to the sovereignty of the Russian Federation.
Finally, according to some sources, the draft law may even become “revenge” for “not admitting the Russian team to the Olympics”.
One way or another, let us note, but it is still difficult to say who will be the first to take revenge. The American "Kremlin list" has been compiled, but has not been used. And many experts, not only in the US, but also in the European Union, do not think that Washington has prepared the list specifically to announce a new stage of the sanctions war - after all, both Brussels and Washington are already entangled in sanctions, and the European Union recently openly spoke out against strengthening the sanctions policy towards Russia. They also openly spoke out against the sanctions in Germany: politicians there are seriously afraid of being left without Gazprom gas. And they are afraid because Mr. Miller was included in the American blacklist.
It is likely that the new bill, if it only ripens to the stage of becoming a law, is not aimed specifically at "revenge" (especially for the Olympics), but at the formulation of the concept of external interference in the internal affairs of the state. This issue has repeatedly been raised in Russia at the legislative level, but has not been resolved.
