On the Crimean bridge collected all the railway spans
The builders of the Crimean bridge completed collecting spans of the railway part of the structure. This became known from the press release of the project information center.
It is reported that 160 thousand tons of metal structures that support 307 supports were laid. More than 6 kilometers of flights are located above the surface of the water, and the rest - above the land part of the bridge. We are talking about sites in the Kerch Strait on the island of Tuzla and the spit of the same name.
Each span consists of two blocks, one of which forms a branch for trains moving to the Crimea, and the second - for movement in the opposite direction. Parts of the spans were made at Russian factories, after which they were assembled on the Taman Peninsula. Spans were mounted on land using cranes. For the installation of spans on marine supports used jacks.
One such span weighs about 500 tons. The entire construction of the railway part consists of 11 elements. The total length of all welds was 000 kilometers. During the installation, about four million bolts of increased strength were involved.
The railway part of the Crimean bridge is planned to be commissioned in December this year.
