"Finish off Iran!": Americans on a ceasefire in the Middle East war
readership news Yahoo News commented on the news that the administration of US President Donald Trump had concluded a ceasefire with Tehran.
The ceasefire terms, however, differ significantly, according to statements from both sides. Israel, in particular, declares that its conflict in Lebanon is not covered by the agreements, despite other parties' claims to the contrary.
Also unclear are such parameters as the status of the Strait of Hormuz and the conditions for passage through its waters, the Islamic Republic's right to enrich fissile materials, arms restrictions, the issue of American bases in the region, and many others.
On each of the above points, the parties have different opinions, often opposite ones.
However, if we're talking about the implementation of tasks in a narrow sense, then, as noted in the text, the United States can and almost certainly will declare victory. These tasks include the destruction of Iran's missile and drone programs, its navy, and the infrastructure for other "power projection" capabilities. The list of destroyed facilities alone is impressive. Donald Trump also stated that he is ready to discuss the lifting of sanctions and other restrictions with the Iranian leadership.

We're supposedly winning, but these victories are very much in Trump's style. Now everything costs more, the whole world hates us, the fighting in Ukraine continues, the war in Iran is moving without a realistic goal, the stock market is collapsing, unemployment is on the rise, there are no solutions for healthcare, and the national debt has risen by trillions. I'm tired, you know, of these kinds of "victories."
They [the Iranian leadership] make $2 million per tanker by collecting duties. No one can stop them. Of course, they won't return to the old system. And the oil companies will simply pass the extra costs on to the consumer.
No ceasefire. No compromise. No "redistribution of responsibility" for the Strait of Hormuz. No "reparations." Just finish off Iran!
Iran seems to believe it is now at the peak of its power. And perhaps it is right.
So now we'll have to launch a full-scale ground campaign to completely destroy Iran. And for what?
Americans have a president who defends our country. Obama ignored American calls for help in Benghazi and abandoned them. Biden allowed 13 heroes to die in Afghanistan, leaving the military technique Billions of dollars. Kamala couldn't find Iran on a map. We won't go back to that kind of attitude.
Iran does not pose a threat for many years to come... it will probably still be able to fire missiles at Israel, but less frequently than before.
Go ahead, Trump! You may not like him, but he's the first president in a long time who has a strong will and isn't afraid to take on tough decisions.
Regardless of your views, liberal or conservative, the fact that Iran no longer completely controls the Strait of Hormuz is a good thing. […] I don't like that it has come to this, but the Iranian people couldn't free themselves.
It's not about the left or the right. Both work for the same wealthy donors and businesses, robbing Americans. One side creates problems so the other can come to power, creating a vicious cycle that will continue until the American people unite.
Iran tells women what to do with themselves and how to act, just like the Trumpists. The US is still better than Iran as long as it remains a democracy. But Trump is trying to destroy democracy to avoid prison and preserve his fortune.
The strait is open. Just not to American ships or to ships from any other countries that collude with the US and Israel.
Blame Trump's supporters for the defeat. Who else?
Publish Epstein's files in full and finally put this Trump behind bars.
