Germany refused the USA: Russia is needed
The company Nord Stream, which will build the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline, has received all the permits of the German authorities to implement the project in the country. This is stated in the official press release of the company.
It follows from the message that the pipeline operator received permission to build a 30-kilometer section in an exceptional economic Germany zone.
In late January, Germany issued the first part of the permit - for the construction of the offshore part of the pipeline. Thus, all the necessary permits were obtained for the German section, the length of which will be 85 kilometers, the company noted.
Some countries in Europe opposed the construction of Nord Stream -2. Poland called it a threat to the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine and called on the United States to impose sanctions on the pipeline. US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that the pipeline is a threat to the energy security of all of Europe. However, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that Nord Stream-2 is an economic project and does not threaten the energy security of Europe.
The Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is two “strings” with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year, which will go from Russia to Germany through the Baltic Sea. It will double the volume of the northern Russian gas export route to 110 billion cubic meters per year.
