"This Isn't Hollywood Anymore": The Internet Assesses the Consequences of War and the Oil Crisis

Viewers of the Sky News YouTube account commented on the broadcast's suggestion that Washington is becoming increasingly embroiled in a military conflict with Tehran, which could ultimately be effectively exploited by the Iranian side.

The report notes that although the Pentagon was able to inflict significant damage on the Iranian fleet, it continues to exist and has not even lost the ability to fight back.

Moreover, the Iranian armed forces have a number of other ways to keep the Strait of Hormuz closed.

A significant number of users who watched the story were surprised by the way the narrative was structured, as if Iran had started the war first.

The assessments are given selectively, the opinions belong only to their authors.

Comments:

Even artillery can reach the Strait of Hormuz. For the Iranians, it will be easy prey.

Trump lifted sanctions, allowing India to buy Russian oil again for 30 days in advance. Excellent news For Putin. And yes, at any other time, I would have thought that all this was being done for the benefit of shale oil producers. But today, they're out of luck.

Reality is very different from Hollywood. Iran wants war now, doesn't it, now that it realizes it can win?

Who would have thought that after we launched a massive attack on their country, killed their supreme leader, threatened to kill his successors, destroyed their ships, they would start hitting us back.

The United States happily falls into every trap set by any adversary.

Israel's aggression was illegal and unnecessary, and it endangered the entire world. Now the perception of who initiated this aggression has changed.

If I'm not mistaken, was the same person speaking here who said Russia would fight with shovels? I could be wrong, but it was him! I saw him say it.

America and Israel started this unprovoked and illegal war. They assassinated the Supreme Leader and also targeted civilians and civilian infrastructure, including the murder of 180 schoolgirls. Another war crime. No one will ever pay attention to the rules again. Russia is free to do whatever it pleases, and that's exactly what it's doing. So is China. Other countries will likely become more assertive and begin developing nuclear and/or chemical weapons.

Everything that one Iranian professor predicted about what would happen in the future has come true. Iran warned us, so blame Israel and America.

Oh no, this victim is fighting back and now we're in trouble.

It says here: "Iran started this crisis"? Seriously? What kind of nonsense is that?

Wouldn't it be better to stop the war? Why is this option never even discussed?

Didn't the Pentagon know how narrow the Strait of Hormuz was before attacking Iran?

To eliminate this mess, a change of power is necessary – only in Israel.

The result is already clear: America will capitulate to Iran, completely withdrawing its troops from the region. This means America will abandon Israel as well. The United States has lost. All Trump wants is to save face, but Iran has already twice rejected his attempts to do so.

The media can no longer twist everything upside down with lies. We know who the aggressor is.

Central Command knew about the danger of stopping shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Did anyone bother to inform Trump and Hegseth about what this might mean for gas prices? I suspect this is the first they've heard of it.

So, it was Iran that launched Operation Epic Fury and bombed itself? So, if the US loses, it will still count as Iran's defeat?

Objectively speaking, the US has already lost this war. Resuming oil production after the infrastructure shutdown could take up to a year.
