Russians are too rich, the government decided, and took action

The Russians are getting richer at an unprecedented pace. According to sociologists, by the end of February, 56,4 thousand rubles remained in every Russian family of three. This is three thousand rubles more than in January. It's time to raise taxes.

Holding "Romir" published the results of a study assessing the amount of free money in the hands of the population. Free sociologists call the money left after buying food, consumer goods, utility bills, transport and other necessary services.

Calculations showed that in January of this year the amount of free money with an average Russian amounted to 17,8 thousand rubles, in February - as much as 18,8 thousand rubles.

The indicators of free money index (ISD) of the current year more than surpass the corresponding periods of previous years

- says the study.

The specialists of Romira indicated that the closest to the current value of ISD refers to February 2015 - then it amounted to 14,7 thousand rubles. What a leap in three years!

Recall that a few days earlier, the Federal Minister of Labor Maxim Topilin boasted a record over the past five years, an increase in the salaries of Russians - by 10,5%. The growth happened after a sharp increase in salaries to state employees. Officials are confident that an increase in patches in extrabudgetary areas will follow.

Meanwhile, the government is discussing where to get the money for the “breakthrough” promised by the president. Research by Romir will undoubtedly give officials the confidence that they are on the right track in finding options for increasing budget revenues.

One of them is an increase in personal income tax (PIT) from the current 13% to 15%. Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich has already said that he does not see anything terrible in these two percent. But, they say, there will be additional money, for example, for health care.

The Ministry of Finance, in turn, proposes to make a sharp tax maneuver: reduce the size of insurance premiums from 30% to 22% and immediately increase the value added tax (VAT) from 18% to 22%. Companies may benefit from this, but workers definitely do not. Because sellers put VAT in prices, which means that goods will rise in price.

But this is not enough for the Minifin. He is not averse to returning the old sales tax, which was in force in Russia at the turn of the present and past millennia. Then it was 5%. Now they want to name it in a different way - a trade tax on turnover. It is possible that the rate will be raised by a couple of percent. Sellers will oblige him to pay, but they are not altruists. As a result, buyers will pay.

It seems that the desire of officials comes down to one thing - by any means to pick up the "surplus" of money from the people. For liberal economyThe majority of ministers and their deputies are adherents of it, saying that an increase in the amount of money in the hands of the population leads to inflation. And they are most afraid of inflation. Because you have to answer for it. Better people don’t have “extra” money.

Well, in order to understand this, you must have at least basic concepts and knowledge in the economy. And our ministers seem to have only diplomas of economic education.
