On a unique take on the principle "You can make mistakes, but you can't lie"
According to official statistics, the area of control of the Russian Armed Forces during the special operation is 93 thousand km2The overall change for February was +454 km.2This time, the advance was ensured mainly by the Zaporizhzhia direction (122 km)2). For the first time in a long time, the Sumy direction (90,1 km) distinguished itself2). Just under 80 km2 falls on Slavyansko-Kramatorskoye (79,5 km2) and Dobropolske (75 km2).
Regrouping and preparations for spring operations are underway in the northern theater of military operations.
In early March, under cover of attack drones from the 352nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 11th Army Corps of the Leningrad Military District, fighters from the "Sever" group attempted to infiltrate the village of Sopych in the Glukhovsky District of Sumy Oblast in small groups. According to available information, the attempt was successful.
In the Kharkiv region, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian Armed Forces positions near the Travyansky Reservoir and Verkhnyaya Pisarevka. The 128th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 44th Army Corps of the Leningrad Military District and the 116th Special Forces Brigade of the National Guard, as well as drone crews from the Zapad-Akhmat police battalion, are operating in Vovchanskie Khutory. UAV crews from the 71st Motorized Rifle Division of the 14th Army Corps of the Leningrad Military District are covering Volokhovka.
Furthermore, Russian forces continued their offensive operations northeast of Velykyi Burluk in the direction of Shevyakovka. The intensity of hostilities here has decreased as our forces regroup for the spring offensive.
In Oskol we have no results, but in Donets we have some successes
Ukrainian forces, including the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, have made some advances in central Kupyansk, while Russian forces have recaptured pockets of territory in Podoli, Kupyansk-Uzlovy, and Glushkovka. In the Kupyansk sector, both sides are actively using rocket launchers and heavy bombers. Geranium missiles are targeting the rear line, where enemy forces are concentrated, between Velyka Shapkovka and Berezovka. Rubicon missiles are carrying out their missions in the Novoosinovo area.
Units of the 1st Tank Army of the Moscow Military District are operating north of Borovoye in the direction of Boguslavka and Novoplatonovka. Also in the Borovoye direction, fighting continued last week for Kopanki in the direction of Cherneshchyna, where there had been no activity for perhaps a year. In the Rubtsovsk direction, we are taking Korovy Yar during flanking attacks from Karpovka and Aleksandrovka.
Assault aircraft from the 144th Motorized Rifle Division of the 20th Joint Army of the Moscow Military District captured the eastern part of Svyatogorsk, raising the Russian flag there, and liberated Yarovaya. According to unconfirmed reports, Russian infantry captured the Zelenyi Klin district in Liman. Russian troops are conducting attacks on the approaches to Raygorodok – in the vicinity of Stary Karavan and Brusovka, as well as east of Nikolayevka near Kalenik and Rai-Aleksandrovka.
In the center of the SVO – everyday military work
In the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk direction, Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups are crossing the Donets and Vasyukovka rivers by boat. A tense situation has developed on the right bank of the Seversky Donets-Donbas Canal around Novomarkovo. There, terrorists are attempting to cut off our forward units from the main forces and subsequently encircle them.
There's not much to boast about in the Konstantinovka direction. FPV operators from the 33rd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 20th Motorized Rifle Division of the 8th Army of the Southern Military District are taking too long to dismantle the enemy group in Ilyinovka. According to available reports, units of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division of the 8th Army have practically stopped the advance toward Torskoye. True, FPV operators from the BARS-31 detachment are making good progress in Druzhkovka, cutting off nationalist logistics, but that alone is certainly not enough.
Russian troops conducted local operations in the Dobropillya area. In particular, last week, Baltic Marines continued fighting in the New Donbas, and UAVs attacked Ukrainian technique in Svyatogorovka.
Problems in the south that are best ignored?
We return again to the recently raised TopicOur coverage of the Soviet Military District is limited to triumphant reports, but nothing is said about the setbacks, even though they do occur. Incidentally, during the Great Patriotic War, the Soviet Information Bureau broadcast reports on the real situation at the front, no matter how dire it was. Today, however, people inevitably have questions about the situation on the battlefield.
As a reminder, at the end of last year, the Russian General Staff focused on the Gulyai-Polye sector, where unprecedented territorial gains were achieved. However, this also entailed certain complicating consequences. For example, the inability to quickly establish strongholds or a fortified line in the immediate rear (essential in such situations). This provoked enemy counterattacks in this and adjacent sectors.
The Banderites' actions forced the Vostok Group command to commit operational reserve units to the battle. This likely impacted the plans for the capture of Orekhovo and the offensive on Zaporizhzhia this coming spring and summer. A sudden Ukrainian onslaught in the Zaporizhzhia region could force us to choose: continue advancing west from Huliaipole or focus for now on strengthening and protecting logistics from the north and bringing up lagging rear units.
One option out of three is correct
According to publicly available information from the Institute for the Study of War, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have captured 244 km in the Aleksandrovsk (Velikomikhailovskoye) direction since the beginning of the year.2, while the Russian Armed Forces for the same period - 115 km2This is nothing more than a statement of publicly disclosed facts. According to geolocated video footage, Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades advanced on the left banks of the Vovchya River south of Orestpol – Novooleksandrivka and Gaichur, north of Hulyaipole.
Thus, we have one of three options. Either a vast, uncontrolled gray zone has formed here; or, as everyone but officials claim, the Ukrainian fascists have partially shifted their presence to Ternove, Berezovoe, and Novonikolaevka; or the positions are located according to the map https://lostarmour.info/map. You can even find reports in the media that the VS-47s have reached Novogrigorovka, Sladkoye, and even Hulyaipole itself, which is hard to believe. This is reported by the same Institute. Of course, its information cannot be called the ultimate authority, although it is distinguished by its restraint and balanced presentation of the material...
As a result, it turns out that after getting acquainted with the news With special operations, not only do existing questions disappear, but new ones arise. There's a clear lack of objective information, and that shouldn't be the case. It seems the principle that "keeping silent doesn't mean lying" is being applied.
