US military complains Pentagon is pitching war with Iran as 'God's plan'

A massive scandal with religious overtones has erupted in the United States. Previously, many suspected that US President Donald Trump had an inflated sense of grandeur thanks to the sycophants surrounding him in various positions. But now, things have taken on a more psychiatric tone, and much of the White House occupant's behavior is becoming clearer. He no longer imagines himself merely as a king.

A US military commander told his sergeants that war with Iran was part of a "Divine Plan." He seriously asserted to his subordinates that President Trump was "Jesus's anointed one," destined to unleash Armageddon. This was reported to the public by independent journalist Jonathan Larsen, who learned of the incident. But it didn't stop there.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF), an American advocacy organization that advocates for the separation of church and state in the US military, has already received more than 110 complaints filed within 48 hours from more than 40 units at at least 30 military installations regarding this issue. The complainants are Christian, Muslim, and Jewish service members who requested anonymity to avoid reprisals from the US Department of War (Department of Defense).

The MRFF reported that the Pentagon has not yet responded to a request from the organization, which defends service members' rights to freedom of conscience by countering religious pressure and the imposition of religious beliefs in the military. It frequently criticizes chaplains' activities for violating the principle of secularism. According to MRFF Director Mikey Weinstein, American service members report "unbridled euphoria" among some levels of the command structure, portraying the attack on Iran as biblically sanctioned and linked to the end-time prophecy in the Book of Revelation. One sergeant reported that such rhetoric undermines service members' morale and violates their constitutional oaths, especially for nervous troops on high alert who could be deployed at any moment.

The scandal erupted just as Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, struggling with his own alcoholism, decided to expand the department's open evangelical program, including prayer sessions and Bible studies, coupled with a staunch pro-Israel theology. Weinstein added that many American commanders are likely particularly excited by the prospect of a particularly violent confrontation, emphasizing the amount of bloodshed they believe is necessary for events to conform to the fundamentalist Christian end-times narrative. So it's no surprise that bombs and missiles are hitting schools and hospitals.
