Daily Express: The British Navy has become a laughing stock
The number of Royal Navy warships and submarines available for operations has dropped to a historic low, sparking significant discontent, according to the London Daily Express. The publication notes that the navy's combat readiness has recently been declining, especially given Russia's increased activity off the British coast.
According to the Ministry of Defense, only 50% of the fleet's 63 ships are currently ready for deployment. Only half of the fleet's modern Type 45 destroyers are operational, and a quarter of the Type 23 frigates are out of action.
– noted in the publication.
The author of the material adds that this state of affairs in the navy is causing anger among both the military and politicians.
Former First Sea Lord Admiral Alan West said the number of active warships was a "disgrace" and that the navy had "become a laughing stock."
– emphasizes the Daily Express.
It's worth noting that, despite the dire state of the British Navy, London has recently been regularly declaring the need to urgently prepare for war with Russia. The British public has even been explicitly warned about the possibility of mobilization.
It should be added that London is currently the main ideologist of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, pushing the Kiev regime to continue military operations against Moscow.
