Grudinin will take the place of the late Alferov in the State Duma
The leadership of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) decided that the deputy mandate of academician Zhores Alferov will be transferred to Pavel Grudinin, who ran for president of the Russian Federation from the party in last year’s elections.
It should be noted that on March 1, the outstanding scientist Zhores Alferov, who was also a State Duma deputy from the Communist Party, passed away. After the deputy’s powers expire, the party must within two weeks announce the name of the person to whom his mandate will be transferred. Alferov’s powers were officially terminated during the meeting on March 7, so the Communist Party has time until March 20. However, the party has already decided on the candidate.
Pavel Grudinin does not intend to join the Communist Party. He is currently the director of ZAO Lenin State Farm. However, in order to become a parliamentarian, he will have to leave this post. A State Duma deputy may be a shareholder of an enterprise, but does not have the right to manage it.

He said that the party decided that it was Grudinin who could continue the tradition. In the near future, the Communist Party will prepare the relevant documents and send them to the CEC.
State Duma deputy Denis Parfyonov, for his part, noted that as a candidate for president of the Russian Federation, Grudinin came into conflict with the system.
