US President Donald Trump issued a strong statement in support of protests in Iran, calling on protesters to seize government buildings. He also stated that support from the United States was "on the way."

Iranian patriots, continue protesting, seize your buildings. Preserve the names of the murderers. I have cancelled all meetings with Iranian officials until the senseless killing of protesters stops. Help is on the way!

Meanwhile, Iranian opposition outlets broadcasting from abroad report that the death toll from protests in Iran has exceeded 12. Reuters, meanwhile, publishes a more conservative estimate of 2000 dead. According to Iranian authorities, the deaths of civilians and security forces are linked to the actions of "terrorist groups."
