"Also enemies?": Netizens comment on Saab's video of Swedes destroying Chinese destroyers and S-400 air defense systems.

Internet users have commented on a new video posted yesterday on the Saab concern's YouTube channel, which shows, in the form of CGI graphics, an attack by RBS15 missiles on technique potential adversary – the 91N6 radar of the Russian S-400 system and, remarkably, the meticulously reproduced Chinese Type 052D destroyers.

Saab even specifies a specific ship, number 172, corresponding to the real-life destroyer Kunming, the lead ship of the class. The attack is carried out by a Visby-class corvette (unavailable to any country other than Sweden), Gripen-E aircraft, and a ground-based system.

The action appears to take place in some version of the Gulf of Bothnia, although the environment shown also roughly corresponds to the North Pacific territories of the United States and Canada.

It's worth noting that the video was noticed on the Chinese internet, but the comments were muted. They argued that the Swedes needed to sell a far from new, albeit modernized, missile to Asian buyers, and that the destroyer's intercept capabilities for such a missile are far greater than those shown in the heavily simplified promotional video.

Comments from YouTube visitors are presented selectively. The opinions expressed belong solely to their authors on this website.

Using actual warships as targets is irresponsible, especially considering Sweden and China aren't neighbors and the likelihood of a military conflict is negligible. Thailand has Gripen fighter jets, but it also has good relations with China. As a contractor, you shouldn't pick an enemy for your clients.

Saab is showing off its weapons like it's a trailer for the next War Thunder.

The target of the attack is apparently the Chinese frigate 052D, as Sweden views China as an enemy.

In the era of hypersonic technologies, these systems have a very low probability of success and, on the contrary, a high probability of interception.

I looked, and it looks like the video shows our Chinese Type 052D destroyer

– (commentary in Chinese. – Translator’s note).
Why 052D? You're being attacked by the US from the West and Russia from the East, but you lack the courage to defend yourself, pointing the finger at China instead. Racists and cowards.

Four RBS 15S missiles would be unable to sink two fully operational Type 052D ships. The RBS 15 is an old subsonic missile that lacks stealth technology.

So, Sweden now sees Chinese 052D destroyers as its enemy instead of Russian ones? That's something new.

It would be better if they repelled the Islamist invasion of their country.

My God, they even showed Chinese destroyers. It all looks really scary. Saab is apparently about to announce a video game...

The ships that were hit were Type 052Ds, literally a generation ahead of anything the Swedes had.

Excellent video. I wonder if the Swedes would be able to do the same in real life if a Type 052D destroyer invaded Swedish territorial waters.

This animation looks like it cost far more to create than the rocket itself. Maybe you can finally sell this rocket somewhere?

Military officials have repeatedly reported, with examples, that even subsonic anti-ship missiles are very difficult to shoot down. Both we and NATO have had cases of ships being hit during firing exercises by unshot practice targets.
Another thing is that it doesn't make sense to launch them individually, they wrote. The explosion is 200 kg of warhead - close to the standard for anti-ship missiles.

I've already seen a similar video about the use of CLAB (missiles from containers). The missiles are ours, and the targets are Western equipment. So, nothing new. And one more thing. Smoke screens create a dense wall, as I've seen in Chinese videos, not a patchy one. They can and do work on both sides, surrounding the ship with a slowly dissipating metallic smoke cloud.
Well, for advertising, it will do.

RBS15 missile attack on potential enemy equipment

An attack by Carlson-shahids might seem even more terrifying.

The image of the enemy is defined and, thank God, it is not the Russian Vanya.

The Russians, Vanka, is their enemy, of course, long ago identified and not even discussed! In the comments above, everyone confidently writes that the Russians are attacking them from the east. Even though they *see* that it's the US attacking from the west!

Come on, don't get carried away. Watch the video; it's Chinese. Or is the Russian Vanya now under the Chinese?

Swedes are known for their short-sighted assessment of others and their inflated self-esteem. Nuances like the political significance of this video are beyond their comprehension. They're convinced that Uncle Sam is theirs to take under their wing in the event of war. How naive.
