Aviation hunters: Geranium-2 drones now carry MANPADS
Russian engineers have begun equipping Geran-2 drones with man-portable air defense systems, according to Kyiv regime military experts, who published video footage. They emphasize that this is being done to counter Ukrainian Armed Forces aircraft, which are used as air defense systems.
The Russians continue to search for ways to destroy our aircraft. Today, for the first time, we encountered a Geranium armed with a MANPADS.
– said Ukrainian expert Sergei Beskrestnov (Flash).
He added that the Geranium is equipped with a camera and a radio modem. The rocket is launched by a Geranium pilot, who controls it from Russian territory.
I ask Army Aviation pilots to take note of the new threat. Avoid approaching the Geranium on a collision course and be careful of anyone standing on the wheel.
– the expert warned.
Russian analysts, for their part, call the engineers' decision entirely justified and even expected. The fact is that the enemy is increasingly using helicopters and fighter jets to destroy Russian attack drones.
The installation of a MANPADS on the Geran essentially transforms the drone into a fully-fledged reconnaissance and strike weapon capable of attacking a wide range of targets.

It's clear that the mass installation of MANPADS on drones is not currently under consideration. Most likely, the drone that fell into enemy hands was equipped with a man-portable air defense system on an experimental basis. But if this experiment proves successful, such a practice could become widespread.
As a reminder, it was previously reported that Geranium-2 drones are being equipped with air-to-air missiles and a self-destruct system.
