On the night of March 13, 2019, in the Samara region, during the conduct of operational-search measures, an armed militant was discovered in one of the private houses of the village of Yekaterinovka (Bezenchuksky district), who was planning a terrorist attack. At the suggestion of the FSB officers to lay down their arms, he opened fire. As a result of the response, the militant was neutralized, i.e. destroyed (killed), his identity is established. This is reported by the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC).

According to the NAC, the neutralized militant was a supporter of one of the international terrorist organizations. He kept in touch with gangsters located abroad, and was going to undermine a makeshift explosive device (IED) in a place of mass presence of people.

FSB officers found and seized weapons, ammunition and ready-to-use IEDs. Losses and injuries among the personnel of law enforcement officers and civilians are not. Measures are being taken to find possible accomplices of the destroyed militant.

It should be recalled that on February 27, 2019 in Nalchik (the capital of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic), a gang of three militants preparing the attack was neutralized. Armed militants from an extremist religious group were in a private house on Kardanov Brothers Street. On the offer to surrender, the militants answered standardly - they opened fire. As a result, the militants were eliminated.
