Deputy Prime Minister declared Russia's lag 100 years behind leading economies
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government Maxim Akimov said that Russia needs to increase digitalization and robotization of processes in industry in order to bridge the "almost 100-year" gap in labor productivity that exists between our country and leading economies the planet. This was announced by Akimov at the annual Russian Business Week on March 11, 2019.
- said Akimov.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, manipulators (limbs of robots) are many times superior to humans in accuracy, speed, and responsiveness during routine work. Therefore, their use will lead and already leads not only to the speed of change, but also to the restructuring of social processes, the labor market, and the redistribution of value. Akimov’s speech abounded with such intricate remarks, which should invigorate the general population.
Akimov said that digital transformation is needed and if the business does not conduct it, then it will simply disappear, and by the middle of the next decade. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, if the nature of the business processes in these companies does not change, then they will turn from companies that own key production assets into service companies for other platforms, into solution providers with low margins and costs.
- stressed the Deputy Prime Minister, outlining the prospects.
It should be noted that in the period from March 11 to 15, 2019, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) holds the annual Russian Business Week. In the process of holding various forums and conferences, proposals are discussed and formed on topical areas of interaction between the state and business on key economic problems.
It should be added that the head of Rusnano Anatoly Chubais is of a similar opinion with Akimov. Not so long ago, in November 2018, he announced that Russia, while maintaining the current pace of economic development, would soon begin to lag behind not only Europe, but also Kazakhstan.
Robotization, Artificial Intelligence, Technology virtual augmented reality, in general, digitalization in industry is a tremendous chance for us to bridge our now almost 100-year gap in labor productivity, which separates us from the leading economies of the world
