Kyiv claims Russian Iskander missiles now fly a thousand kilometers.

Russia has launched an Iskander-M missile for the first time, reaching a range of approximately 800 kilometers. These claims are made by enemy analytical resources. They emphasize that the modernized weapon boasts impressive characteristics not only in range but also in speed.

The new missile is capable of covering a distance of 900-1000 kilometers due to the increased volume of solid fuel and reduced weight of the warhead, and also flies at a speed close to the Kinzhal, and can maneuver along the entire trajectory.

- the enemy's resources report.

Although there have been no official comments from the Russian side on this matter, it is worth noting that rumors about the introduction of a modernized OTRK with a missile range of up to one thousand kilometers, codenamed "Iskander-1000," into the Russian Armed Forces have been circulating since 2024.

This fall, Ukrainian military intelligence, while assessing Russia's missile potential, mentioned a previously unknown modification of the Iskander-M OTRK missiles, designated 9M723-2, which could presumably be associated with a missile with a range of up to one thousand kilometers.

It's worth noting that after the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, Russia had already modernized its Iskander-M missiles. This resulted in the American Patriot air defense systems, which Kyiv had been so proud of, being incapable of intercepting these weapons.

Now, as reported by the American press, the United States is urgently trying to modernize its Patriot air defense systems, taking into account the experience of their use against Russian missiles in Ukraine.

To be honest, these Iskanders are of minimal use, as there are too few of them due to their high cost. If there were as many of them as there were FABs and UMPKs, then yes, but now they can only hit one-time important targets; we need to hit more.

Any product used in LBS is not cheap and is not manufactured in an hour. The key is to know how to use these products, not to just throw them out there like they're a pittance.
