Why does China need a Chinese plant on Baikal?

13
Disputes over the Chinese plant for bottling drinking water on Lake Baikal intensified in society. More than 800 thousand people signed a petition to ban the construction. With a single picket on this subject, stylist Sergei Zverev came to Red Square.

However, the project was started back in 2012, and the noise was raised only now. The company should start operating in 2021. It is a pipe that will take water from the lake, and a workshop for water purification and bottling in containers. 150 locals will work on it.

The petition says that the plant will cause damage to Lake Baikal. It will consume 192 million liters per year. This raises concerns that the water level in Baikal will fall.

If Baikal had not been replenished with water from many sources, then in order to scoop up water from it, the plant should pump it for 123 million years. But the lake is associated with many rivers. The largest of them are Selenga Barguzin and Upper Angara. In the Angara alone, in one and a half minutes, Baikal dumps the planned annual volume of the plant.

There are concerns about the environmental situation, because the plant will harm the migration of rare birds. But there are no rare birds in that area - they go around this place, because there is the village of Kultuk. This site is not a specially protected natural area. And the pipe should not harm the fish, because the water will be taken from a depth of 400 meters.

For many years, the public demanded the closure of the Baikal Pulp and Paper Mill for environmental reasons. Then they said that environmentally friendly production and development of tourism was needed. PPM was closed Now, the number of Chinese tourists is growing on Lake Baikal. And the plant under construction received all the necessary permits.

They say it was necessary to build their own enterprise, and not let the Chinese go. But the Russian market does not need so much bottled water, but in China they are ready to consume it: this resource is not enough there.

Thus, the Chinese investor does not just create an enterprise, jobs and pays taxes. He takes over the market. In addition, he is interested in keeping the water in the lake clean, otherwise his goods will depreciate.

What is the argument? Organizers - a Russian-Chinese couple tried for forest theft. Let's check who, how and for how much gave them these same permissions?

The same jobs in the amount of 150 pieces can also be created by people who are not convicted of embezzlement of national property in the form of forest resources. And they can also be created in the tourism industry, an anonymous author himself said that the number of Chinese tourists is growing. There will be jobs and taxes. And where does it mean, will the water be clean or not? The point is not that it is contaminated during pumping, but that it will be pumped out on an industrial scale. What is the matter of a family couple of co-owners of the enterprise to the future lake, in which the water level will gradually begin to drop? No doubt, new factories will begin to be built behind this.

These are just your guesses. Let the organs work. And just blaming - at least ugly.

Let them drink water, to your health! And for a fee - even better. Yes, it is a natural resource. But without a twinge of conscience, we drink Chinese tea - also a natural resource.

Baikal should not be touched in any way. Not a single scientist, even seven spans in the forehead, is able to calculate what could happen due to interference in the ecosystem of our unique lake. And we don’t need to ride on our ears with our supposedly positive arguments !!! stop

But is navigation not carried out on Lake Baikal? But Baikal, of course, should be in federal, not regional or local, jurisdiction.

Assumptions about what? The authorities have already worked on a couple of owners of the plant. They stole 2 billion rubles from the Russian forest to China.

... This raises concerns that the water level in Baikal will fall.

Of course. Scientists are already sounding the alarm that the water level in Lake Baikal has fallen in recent years, and the environment on the shores is lower than the plinth.
In Siberia, relict forests are destroyed in the taiga, millions of cubic meters go to China through leaky customs. In China itself, logging is strictly prohibited.
Now thieves and "businessmen" have reached the sacred Lake Baikal, the national wealth of all of Russia.
By the end of 2019, the Power of Siberia gas pipeline for China will be put into operation, but at the same time the cities and villages of Siberia are still not supplied with gas, they are heated with coal and wood.
Such a policy of the authorities, including local ones, leads to the fact that Russia will become a raw materials appendage not only of the West, but also of China, to the detriment of its own population.

The construction of local gas pipelines must be justified either economically, or by safety requirements, or by the environment. Just wanting and shouting about this issue can not be solved. Otherwise, let's go around the world - no gas, no money. And stop moaning about the raw materials appendage. For the possession of resources in the world are wars. Canada and Australia are a vivid example of the fact that natural resources ensure the well-being of the people, if you do not engage in total theft, removing income abroad.

Do not squander resources, but use them prudently for the benefit of the people. The same "amazing manager" Deribaska could hardly be forced only to stop the pulp and paper mill and do nothing in return - pour the same water. You cannot be like a "dog in the manger" and be guided by partial considerations of individuals who simply do not want to share with others. Knowing their opinion, taking into account when starting production - yes, but simply agreeing means doing nothing and waiting for someone to bring you everything.
