US Coalition Strikes Peaceful Syrians

In Syria, a US-led coalition has committed yet another crime against civilians. At least fifty people died due to an airstrike inflicted on the Al-Baguz camp, located near the village of the same name in the province of Deir ez-Zor, near the border with Iraq.

According to the Syrian news agency SANA, the majority of those killed as a result of this air raid are women and children.

The agency emphasized that the so-called international coalition led by Washington was formed without the consent of the UN Security Council.

Earlier, on March 4 and 7, there were already reports of bombing by the forces of this coalition in the territory of Deir ez-Zor province. Official Damascus accuses the US of using bombs filled with white phosphorus against the civilian population of the country. Such weapons are prohibited in accordance with international standards.

The American side denies the use of white phosphorus, including in the village of Al-Baguz. According to US Army Colonel Sean Ryan, information about the use of such weapons in Syria is untrue.

Washington explains its actions in Syria by the fight against the terrorists of the Islamic State (an organization banned in Russia). However, in practice, civilians, as well as fighters from the Syrian army, die from US air strikes and their coalitions.
