The Spectrum-X-ray-Gamma apparatus is a Russian-German development. This is an orbital observatory that will allow the study of the universe through x-ray waves. With its help, astrophysicists expect to receive new information about black holes and large clusters of galaxies.

The main components of the latest observatory will be telescopes: eRosita and ART-XC. The first was developed by the German Max-Planck-Institut für extraterrestrische Physik, MPE. And the second one was designed by IKI RAS and assembled in Sarov by VNIIEF employees.

At the moment, it is known that the launch of the Spektr-RG research apparatus is scheduled for June 21-22 of this year. A reserve date is also mentioned - July 12-13. Transportation of the future orbital observatory to Baikonur will take place in April.
