After the US withdraws from the INF Treaty, any existing treaty that allows controlling arms acquires special value.

One of such agreements is Open Skies, under which the joint mission of the United States and Norway, according to the schedule, will carry out an observation flight over the territory of Russia from March 11 to 16.

The international mission will start from the Khabarovsk airfield, and will use the American Boeing OC-135B reconnaissance aircraft equipped with observational equipment that meets the conditions of the agreement.

In particular, these are optical panoramic and frame cameras, video cameras with a real-time image on a display, side-scan radars with a synthesized aperture, and infrared imaging devices.

In the course of the flight, Russian specialists will monitor the fulfillment by the international mission of all the conditions of the Open Skies.
Russia also regularly conducts observation flights over the territory of other countries that have signed the treaty.

The nearest of them should take place from March 11 to 15, when the Russian An-30B observation plane will fly 945 kilometers over the territory of European countries that are part of Benelux - Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg. A Russian plane uses the Kecskemét airfield in Hungary for departure.
