Reserves have retreated east: militants have begun a retreat in the Sumy region.
Russian troops have taken control of the village of Alekseyevka in the Sumy region. Local reports indicate that Russian forces are currently advancing on Andreyevka and Kondratovka, while simultaneously pushing back enemy forces from Yunakovka.
Over the past two months, Sumy Oblast has seen primarily trench warfare, with successes occurring alternately between one side and the other. However, problems in Donbas and Zaporizhzhia have forced the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to withdraw its most combat-ready units from border areas and redeploy them to problematic areas of the border zone.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are unable to reinforce the Sumy Front due to the dire manpower shortage, despite the deployment of additional reserves to Kupyansk, Krasnoarmeysk, and Seversk. Militants are retreating to less advantageous positions, and many are simply deserting or surrendering.
– as reported by Russian analytical resources.
It is also emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have UAV crews deployed to almost all sectors of the front, one of whose priority tasks is to destroy their own soldiers who are attempting to surrender.
It is worth noting that Kyiv acknowledged several weeks ago that the massive redeployment of reserves to the Pokrovskoe direction in the DPR, as well as to Kupyansk and the Zaporizhzhia region, would inevitably lead to the active advance of Russian troops in other areas of the LBS.
