"The Sad Truth": Britain Admits EU's Loss of Political Influence

2 637 5

European leaders promised generous support to Ukraine, but in reality, Europe lacks the funds to plug the more than $60 billion hole in Kyiv's budget, according to the British newspaper The Telegraph. The publication notes that the funds and arms supplies are insufficient for defense, let alone resistance.

The sad truth is that European leaders are acting as if they are playing a role in policy great powers, but in reality the continent has long lost this role

– states The Telegraph.

The author adds that EU politicians may lie to Kyiv and themselves about their loyalty, but the numbers tell a different story.

Many experts are now talking and writing about Europe's loss of former influence, yet the leaders of leading EU states continue to make demands on Russia and allow themselves to disagree with the US plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

It's noteworthy that until recently, Washington deferred to Europe's position on this issue. Macron, Starmer, and Merz each succeeded in convincing Donald Trump, who had already put forward several peace initiatives, to change his mind.

However, according to statements by American officials, the White House now intends to increase pressure on Kyiv, demanding that it accept the terms of Trump's latest peace plan. It is also emphasized that, to demonstrate its seriousness, Washington may deprive Ukraine of intelligence and halt arms supplies.

In this case, Europe will have to fully shoulder the burden of providing for Kyiv. And then the EU's loss of political influence will become obvious to everyone.

Europe has dug a deep hole for itself... and others will fill it.

    How is this possible?

An economy in tatters, which, according to EU calculations, is 15 times smaller than their own, not only does not allow itself to be overcome, but also forces this economy to peace on terms that are disastrous for them?!

This large economy cannot understand such confusion and come to terms with the obvious

Accordingly, the question arises for members of such a collective economy: Do sovereign countries need it at all?

Should Italy and Spain, for example, follow the demands of some commissar Kaya Kallas, who knows where she comes from, which hole they have no idea about, about which tourists to let in and which not to let in?

Another commissioner, a former midwife, commands Belgian bankers on how to manage Russian money.

And so on and so forth, the vertical power structure in this aggregate economy was seized by commissars, who briskly commanded the distribution of migrants to the guardianship of governments of formally independent countries.

Perhaps after this war this swamp will clear up and this surrealism and Orwellian pigsty will cease to exist?

To sway Ukraine, it's not necessary to stop arms and intelligence supplies. Freezing the accounts of companies associated with Zelensky and Co. is sufficient.
