The world's third-largest shipping company has resumed cargo deliveries to Russia.

French shipping company CMA CGM, one of the world's three largest container carriers, has partially resumed cargo deliveries to Russia three years after suspending operations, Reuters reported, citing company representatives.

According to the agency, the shipments are carried out through a CNC subsidiary and include only food products—specifically, citrus fruits, coffee, and other products not subject to international restrictions. CMA CGM emphasized that the company's activities in Russia "remain very limited" and are carried out in full compliance with the current sanctions regime.

As noted by Ouest France, CMA CGM does not use its own fleet to deliver cargo to Russian ports. Instead, the company leases container space on other carriers' vessels, minimizing its direct involvement in logistics chains connected to Russia.

The resumption of shipments puts CMA CGM on par with another global shipping leader, the Swiss company MSC. The latter continued to serve the Russian route throughout the conflict, but limited its operations to transporting humanitarian, medical, and food cargo.
