The transfer of troops to the west Kiev blocked its road to NATO

Between Ukraine and Hungary the conflict situation escalates. Things may go so far that Hungary will block the head of the “independent” Mr. Poroshenko from participating in the NATO summit (which is scheduled for this summer).

The reason for the next angry statement of Hungary against Ukraine was the plans of official Kiev to deploy from 800 to 1000 troops in Beregovo. This is a city in Transcarpathia, where the Hungarian community lives. In the city itself and in the Beregovo district, 67% of the population are Hungarians. More than 80% of the inhabitants speak Hungarian.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine decided to redeploy the military there because of fears for the territorial integrity of the country. After the legitimate president was overthrown in Ukraine in February 2014, as a result of which the Crimeans and residents of Donbass did not want to live under the rule of temporary workers, the issue of territorial integrity became too painful for Kiev. After being burned in milk, the Maidan regime blows into the water.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyyarto was indignant at the decision to bring the Ukrainian military into the city, located five kilometers from the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. He disagreed with the fact that ethnic Hungarians were perceived as a threat to territorial integrity.

This means that Kiev sees the Hungarian national minority as a threat factor. This is outrageous, and Hungary rejects it most emphatically.

- the minister said.

Siyyarto calls on Ukraine to abandon such plans. There is another obstacle to the introduction of troops in Beregovo. Earlier, until 2003, the 315th Guards Mechanized Regiment of the Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky was located in the city. However, it was disbanded. Part of the land where the regiment was located was given to the City Council. Now residential buildings have been built there. Another part of the land was sold to private owners. If not for this fact, the consent of the City Council would not be required, but now it is necessary.

In the spring of 2014, immediately after the Euromaidan, the acting president, Alexander Turchinov, tried to restore the military unit, but Ukraine did not have it before - it was urgent to pacify those who disagree with the coup.

In February, the city council was already discussing the deployment of a separate battalion of the 128th Transcarpathian Mountain Infantry Brigade in Beregovo on the territories of the former military unit. The brigade commander Sergei Sobko tried to assure the deputies that the military would quickly restore the unit and would not cause any inconvenience to the residents. Quite the contrary - supposedly it will revive the economy. However, the Hungarian Democratic Party may oppose the introduction of the military. And she makes up the majority in the City Council.

Earlier, an OSCE delegation visited Beregovo, whose goal was to assess the situation with the rights of national minorities. This was requested by Hungary after radical nationalists several times staged riots in the city that threatened everyone who was not an ethnic Ukrainian. The delegation did not draw any conclusions that it is in the style of various European observers when it comes to the actions of the Ukrainian authorities and the Neo-Bandera.

In addition to the conflict over the entry of military personnel and the actions of the radicals, there is another “bone of contention” between Kiev and Budapest. This is the Ukrainian law on education. It is discriminatory in relation to all national minorities, since it does not provide for education in a language other than Ukrainian.

This law is opposed not only by Hungary, but also by Romania. It is clear that, having restored these countries against themselves, the Kiev authorities themselves are hindering the very same European integration, under the slogans of which the “Euromaidan” passed. And this can seriously slow down (if not make it impossible) the process of rapprochement between Ukraine and NATO, which Poroshenko also dreams of.

But while the Ukrainian government is in no hurry to put up with Hungary, and tightens rhetoric. So, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Maryana Beta, said on the 112 channel that the deployment of the army is an internal affair of the country and that it is concerned about “provocations in the territory of Transcarpathia” that threaten territorial integrity. And the statements of Budapest, in her opinion, "play into the hands of Russia." Apparently, one more step - and the leaders of Hungary for the attempt to protect ethnic Hungarians will be called "Putin's agents."
