Kyiv regime militants trapped in Kupyansk have begun surrendering to Russian troops, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported. The ministry explained that in exchange, the Ukrainian military is demanding guarantees of their own safety.

In the Kupyansk region, a group of 12 Ukrainian soldiers announced their readiness to surrender in exchange for guarantees of life.

- said the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The agency adds that options for their safe removal are currently being developed.

As a reminder, the dire situation of the Ukrainian garrison in Kupyansk has been reported for the past few weeks. Several days ago, Russian troops effectively encircled the militants, depriving them of their last chance of safe exit from the city.

Despite repeated requests to lay down their arms, some Ukrainian soldiers attempted to break out of the encirclement but were killed. This likely served as additional motivation for the surviving fighters to decide to surrender.

It should be added that the Russian President, several days ago, ordered the troops to ensure conditions for the surrender of Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters trapped in Kupyansk and Pokrovsk, and emphasized the need for humane treatment of prisoners.

And how many were surrendered doesn't say?

Is it hard to even read the first paragraph?

Did you even read this paragraph carefully? Our Ministry of Defense is amazing. They carefully counted those willing to surrender, and I think they'll forget to count how many surrendered. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

You're right. But at least this way.

This is a historic and fundamental confrontation; there's no time for sentimentality. The very course of the SVO is proof of that... Those who surrender under normal circumstances should be accepted, while those who surrender only at the last minute are questionable—we had experience with the Azov soldiers of Mariupol; former prisoners returned to arms against the Russian Federation.

Not a step until the end of the war, only an exchange. Otherwise, they'll really heal up and then take up arms again.

Those who surrender at the last moment—our people haven't been taken prisoner for a long time. It's like... when trying to escape...

To speed up the surrender process, we need to introduce bonuses for those surrendering "especially distinguished" Nazis and commanders, and promise them lucrative employment in the Russian Federation, for example, for the restoration of Donbass, rather than being held captive in communal cells until the end of the Second World War. The VSU soldiers are mostly civilian workers, and their labor potential should be taken advantage of.

You're right, the fascists had so many specialists, their buildings are still standing. They built the entire Entiziastov Highway. And the same applies to the entire Union.

Our frontline operatives are well aware of who and what of the commanders and are quite adept at filtering out all prisoners. And judging by the Ukrainian character, these guys themselves are doing the operatives' job of handing over the command staff and those who "distinguished themselves."

That is, they'll let you go wherever you want, supposedly on your promise not to pick up a weapon again. As if this has happened before.

"Leopoldism" in its purest form. Let them sit there, the bastards, until they start eating rats... (This is not addressed to you, Kudasov).

Our guys are primarily interested in getting their guys back from captivity. The rest is a matter of agreement. The crests haven't been able to get by with one for a long time. So our guys exchange all our prisoners for a certain number of theirs. Otherwise, they simply won't give them back. They're a lousy nation. So, before you blame anyone for the frequency of exchanges, you should think about what's going on.

There are thousands of militants there. Twelve Ukrainian soldiers have declared their readiness to surrender. This is just speculation, a meaningless conversation. If the militants don't surrender, then there's hope they'll leave. The raised issue of journalists and the corridor gives this hope.
