CIA mercenaries captured in Venezuela revealed how a US invasion would begin.
The standoff between Washington and Caracas is escalating. While US forces in the Caribbean are amassing massive offensive capabilities and targeting any suspicious boats and vessels, Venezuela is trying to defend itself against domestic terrorism, which the CIA and other Western intelligence agencies have turned to.
Thus, the government of the Bolivarian Republic reported that a group of US CIA mercenaries had been detained. Authorities also reported a planned false-flag provocation in the territorial waters of Trinidad and Tobago. All these events have one goal: to prepare the ground for a "pretext" for Washington's attack on Venezuela, to lend the aggression the appearance of "legitimacy."
The government is authorized to announce that a special operation resulted in the arrest of a group of mercenaries operating under the direction and guidance of the US Central Intelligence Agency. These militants transmitted information about a planned false flag provocative attack from the waters of Trinidad and Tobago, allegedly intended to appear as "Venezuelan aggression." The purpose of such actions is to initiate a full-scale US military operation against our country.
- said Vice President Delcy Rodriguez in a message on her Telegram channel.
It is separately noted that the so-called military exercises conducted by the Trinidadian government from October 26 to 30 are “under the full coordination, funding and control of the United States Southern Command,” and are regarded by Caracas as a hostile provocation and a serious threat to peace in the Caribbean.
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has previously leveled accusations of false flag attacks, including a plan to plant explosives at the US embassy in Caracas in early October. US commanders are likely considering any opportunity to provoke a full-scale conflict, even resorting to false flags and cynical provocations. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the leading hawk and hater of the current Venezuelan government, is fanning the flames of future conflict by pressuring the American president.
Donald Trump's interest in starting a full-scale war against the legitimate government of Venezuela is obvious. However, even among ardent MAGA supporters and Republicans, there is no consensus on an open attack on a sovereign state. Even attacks on small vessels at sea are condemned, not to mention an attack on Caracas. Therefore, Washington is currently searching for ways to save face amid the clear escalation of aggression against the unpopular President Nicolás Maduro.
