Lukashenko named the main conditions for the creation of the Union State
On March 5, 2019, at a meeting with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Minsk’s participation in various integration structures and further cooperation with European organizations were discussed. The topic of construction of the Union State of Russia and Belarus was also touched upon.

The Belarusian leader recalled that the Russian leadership took the initiative to revise integration approaches. Then he specified that Belarus was ready to begin work at the government level to prepare proposals for further unification in the framework of the “two”.

Lukashenko noted that the most pressing problems now exist in economic sphere. In other areas, there is practically no disagreement between countries. Belarus remains absolutely committed to the idea of union building. I want this, first of all, to be heard by our supporters and opponents in Russia. Moreover, the main principle of this project is equal conditions for our fellow citizens and business entities. On other other principles, union is not possible. And the principle of equal conditions should be strictly observed. The postulate of sovereignty also remains unshakable for Belarus
