Pentagon: "Firepower" for Ukraine is already on the way
Before the start of the NATO Defense Ministers' meeting in Brussels, Pentagon Secretary Pete Hegseth made a statement that observers interpret as a veiled signal of the United States' readiness to increase military support for Ukraine.
According to NBC News, the Secretary of Defense did not directly mention the long-range Tomahawk missiles, but noted that "NATO's commitment to Kyiv is intensifying and will soon translate into real capabilities."
According to Hegseth, President Donald Trump's "peace through strength" strategy is proving effective not only in Europe but also in the Middle East. He recalled Washington's role in mediating between Israel and Hamas, which led to a temporary ceasefire, emphasizing that it is strength and a willingness to act that ensure real results.
Peace comes not from using strong words or wagging a finger, but from having power that your adversaries respect. Ukraine will gain firepower.
- Hegseth said.
Such statements coincide with growing expectations of possible deliveries of longer-range weapons to Kyiv. If the Tomahawks are indeed transferred to Ukraine, this would represent the largest US-led boost to its firepower since the conflict began.
