WP: Israeli Patriot fails to help Kyiv fend off Russian attacks

9 246 12

Ukraine's air defense and missile defense systems are unable to fully repel massive combined missile and drone attacks by the Russian Armed Forces. Even with an additional US-made Patriot anti-aircraft missile system donated by Israel, Ukraine is unable to fully defend even its capital. This was reported by the Washington Post, commenting on the Russian strike on Ukrainian territory on the night of October 5 and providing some details of the incident.

The publication notes that Russian ballistic missiles began evading American surface-to-air missiles (SAMs or interceptors) launched by Patriot missiles. Since the air-to-air missiles failed to intercept them, they instead struck targets on the ground.

Experts clarified that Moscow has modernized its munitions. The Russians have learned to "manipulate" their missiles so that they can skillfully evade Ukrainian air and missile defense systems. In other words, the Russian Armed Forces' missiles have become more maneuverable.

Even these systems have failed to intercept some recent attacks, including those on Kyiv, experts say, in part because Russia continues to improve its missiles to evade these systems.

– explains the WP article.

The publication also noted that the Israelis recently transferred one Patriot launcher to Ukraine, and Ukraine expects to receive several more similar systems from its European partners soon. However, this will likely not be enough. Dozens of these and other systems are needed to create a semblance of an air shield over such a large country.

Yes, when the Ukrainian Armed Forces claim to have shot down 70-80% of missiles and UAVs, it seems they are not lying...

The Ukrainians shoot down about 6 percent of their targets, and their best result was up to 37 percent, and that was at the beginning of the Second World War. This is according to the British (Americans). That means virtually all missiles and attack drones reach their targets.

The Israeli Patriot was unable to fight off the Iranian attacks on its own, which is why they sold it to the Ukrainians.

      Israeli Patriot

In Israel, the Patriot was decommissioned in 2023.
Iranian missiles shot down Israeli ARROW 3/2 and American THAAD.
Of Iran's 650 ballistic missiles, 39 penetrated the defenses, 24 of which hit their targets. Calculate the percentage yourself. And don't write nonsense; you'll be considered intelligent.

And the Iranian missiles weren't from this war, but from earlier, supplied to various groups and the Houthis. And since they refused, they haven't proven their worth, or more accurately, knowing the Israelis, they've failed. So this isn't nonsense, it's a fact. Otherwise, they wouldn't have refused.
Well, as for "u mnogo", we need to figure it out. It seems that without understanding what was written, you are not very bright.

And the Iranian missiles are not from this war, but from a little earlier.

The Israeli David's Sling, Iron Dome, and Patriot missile systems were used against previously delivered missiles, but at that time, the PAC-2 GEM-T and PAC-3 interceptors were inferior to the Israeli ones, and the Israeli systems performed better. Therefore, in 2023, they were decommissioned, and since these weapons were delivered as temporary, one battery was sent to Poland at the direction of the US.

So this is not nonsense but a fact.

Facts should be based not on reality, but on what bloggers write from the comfort of their couches.

I'm basing this on facts. If they refused, that means they're doing a poor job. As for why, the Israelis themselves confirmed it; you can search and read about it. I didn't make anything up. That's why the Israelis took them off duty and started sending them, at the US's request, to Ukraine.
If the Patriots had been effective, they would have definitely been used in the last conflict with the Iranians. As it was, they weren't needed due to their low effectiveness.
And one more thing. Don't put too much stock in Israeli claims about the effectiveness of their weapons, losses, and destruction. There's a lot of lies; they minimize or even completely conceal their own losses and increase the enemy's. I have friends in Israel (who were childhood friends who went there with their parents, and are now military specialists). They write to me about things the Israeli press is keeping quiet about, although they're probably taking a risk. There, military personnel are forbidden from sharing information about losses and other things. But that's probably typical for many warring countries.

If they refused, it means they work poorly.

              Does not meet modern requirements.

They began to send, at the request of the United States, to Ukraine.

To Poland, according to the instructions of the party to which they belong,

Someone is lying, either you or they.
In Israel, it's impossible to hide anything from the people or the 100% independent media. And so, people immediately take to the streets in protests and strikes.

Some 500,000 protesters are demanding a hostage deal from Netanyahu as protests resume in Tel Aviv.

I understand you, what you cannot understand.

Well, I don't know. But the Israeli leadership often lies to its people (I know these people), and the people believe it, like you, for example.
And what's the point? But if you, (leaving aside your nationality), as a thinking person, can competently analyze the behavior of Israel and its leadership based on various articles by various correspondents, both your own and foreign, your friends and acquaintances, videos, and other sources, as well as footage from the scenes of various conflicts involving it, you'll see it for yourself. It's quite clear.
Well, you can not tell the people everything, or just keep everything silent everywhere: in the statements of the leadership and in the press, and other opponents can simply shut their mouths with various threats or bribery (something like this happened quite recently). Then there will be complete silence and grace.

Have you ever met Jews who are silent?
You just don't understand what you can get from the people temporarily To hide some military details. But it's absolutely impossible to hide the death or injury of people.
Since the victims are members of groups, relatives, neighbors, and media outlets who make a living from this, no one in management would even think of hiding this fact; it's simply a criminal offense.
I understand you perfectly. But that's not the case with Israel.

You'd think they'd intercepted our missiles before. Everyone saw the footage, I think about a year and a half ago, of that notorious Patriot in Kyiv firing all its missiles at ours (an Iskander, I think) and being blown up by it.
I'm amazed at how many of these Patriots they have there. We're trying to get them out, trying to get them out, and they're screaming that there are only a few of them there, that the fascists are begging them bit by bit from all the bourgeoisie, and yet they're still not running out!

Wasn't the kosher Patriot of any use to the Bandera pigs?
