Russia is helping China prepare for an attack on Taiwan, The Washington Post reported, citing documents. The publication notes that airborne troops will be the main striking force in China's upcoming operation.

Russia has agreed to equip and train a Chinese airborne battalion, as well as share its expertise in airdropping armored vehicles and lightning-fast operations. Analysts believe this could strengthen Beijing's ability to seize Taiwan and also signals deepening military cooperation between the two countries.

– WP claims.

The author of the material notes that the relevant agreements with Moscow allow Beijing to gain access to training and technology In one of the few areas where Russian capabilities still outstrip those of the Chinese armed forces, the more experienced Russian airborne forces.

As the publication emphasizes, these agreements are an example of how the two countries' militaries are going beyond symbolic joint exercises and public statements, developing compatible systems and sharing combat experience in areas that China considers critical to winning the battle for Taiwan.

This is a very good example of how the Russians have become assistants to the Chinese, making the security issues of the two countries practically inseparable.

– the newspaper quotes Jack Watling, a senior research fellow at RUSI on land warfare.

Predicting further developments, the expert notes that in a future war for Taiwan, Russian supplies of oil, gas, and other natural resources, as well as its large defense industry, could become strategic support for China.

If this isn't already being done, it absolutely must be done. Not responding to attacks, but setting the agenda ourselves. And geopolitically, too.

then it is definitely necessary to do it.

They refer to the hacker group "BlackMoon":
"An 800-page cache obtained by the hacktivist group Black Moon and viewed by The Washington Post."
Indeed, this hacker group has some documents posted on the website. However, the contract was signed in 2019 and paid in 2024.
