The cost of the Kyiv regime's actions in the Kursk region proved too high, according to former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhny. He added that Russian troops managed to repel the Ukrainian army's offensive and subsequently launched a counterattack of their own.

Experience has shown that, ultimately, an isolated tactical breakthrough on a narrow section of the front does not bring the necessary success to the attacking side. The defending forces were able to take advantage of this technological, and tactical advantages, and over time, not only did they not allow the tactical breakthrough to develop into operational success, but they themselves subsequently carried out a tactical advance

- Zaluzhny pointed out.

He added that the price of such actions was unknown to him, but it was obvious that it was too high.

The basis of a positional stalemate is not only the impossibility of breaking through defensive lines, but also, most importantly, the impossibility of completing operational tasks, including entering the operational space.

– the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized.

As a reminder, according to estimates by the Russian Ministry of Defense, Kyiv regime militants lost over 100 people and a huge amount of military equipment during the fighting in the Kursk region.

However, they failed to achieve any tangible results. Russian troops are now forming a security zone in Ukraine's Sumy Oblast. Furthermore, the enemy's deployment of large forces in the border region has significantly weakened the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defenses in Donbas.
