It became known that the creation of the Angara space rocket complex (CRK), for 21 years, cost Russia 112 billion rubles. He wrote about this in his book The Angara Space Rocket Complex. History of creation ”Vladimir Nesterov, former general director of the Khrunichev Center (2005-2012) and former general designer of means for removing light and heavy classes (2009-2014).

Currently, the book is distributed among specialists in the rocket and space industry. Whether the book will be accessible to the general reader is not specified. At the same time, Nesterov calls the "Angara" the best in the world of the KRK. He justifies this by saying that the RD-191 engine, used on the URM-1, is considered unique and the best in the world, and in the next 10-15 years he will not have competitors for sure.

In his book, Nesterov notes that the Angara, which provided Russia with independent access to space, from the start of work in 1993 to its successful completion in 2014, taking into account two successfully launched launches of the Angara-1.2PP and Angara launch vehicles -A5 ”and the construction of the launch complex at the Plesetsk cosmodrome, cost Russia 111 million rubles. (in 986 prices).

Nesterov emphasized that during this period, according to his calculations, 62,382 billion rubles were spent on development work (R&D). Of which 51,046 billion rubles. - Money of the Ministry of Defense, 4,980 billion rubles. - allocated Roscosmos and 6,356 billion rubles. - Center Khrunichev.

In addition, another 24,819 billion rubles were spent on technical re-equipment and preparation of serial production of the Angara, and another 24,785 billion rubles. The Ministry of Defense allocated developers for capital investments and construction and installation works on the creation of the ground infrastructure of the complex.

It must be recalled that the Angara is a family of launch vehicles of various classes. Today, only one launch of the Angara-A5 heavy rocket was made - in 2014. The following tests "Angara-A5", i.e. the second ones are scheduled for December 2019, and the third are scheduled for 2020.

At the same time, the launch of Angara-1.2 with the South Korean satellite KOMPSAT-6 is supposed to be carried out in 2020. From the Vostochny Cosmodrome, launches of Angara-class missiles are planned to begin in 2023.

KRK Angara is a family of unified modular-type missiles with oxygen-kerosene engines, which includes carriers of four classes - from light to heavy - in the range of carrying capacities from 1,5 (Angara 1.1) to 35 (Angara-A7) . The lead developer and manufacturer is the MVK Khrunichev State Space Research and Production Center. At the same time, how much money was spent in the period 2015-2019 is not reported.
