"We'll deliver soon": Roscosmos promises to provide the Russian Armed Forces with its own satellite communications system.

7 514 20

Russia will soon have its own satellite communications terminal similar to Starlink. This promise was made by Dmitry Bakanov, head of Roscosmos. He stated that the need for a Russian satellite communications system is obvious.

We'll soon have our own Starlink terminal. We absolutely must make our own satellite device, too.

- Bakanov said on air "Soloviev Live".

Let us remember that at present, the Russian military, like the militants of the Kyiv regime, are forced to use American Technology satellite communications.

Moreover, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' entire troop command and control system is linked to Starlink. Using satellite communications, the Ukrainian military launches unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against targets in Russia.

Even a short-term outage of this system can lead to serious problems. For example, two days ago, Starlink lay down along the entire front line. And the Ukrainian Armed Forces were deprived of the opportunity to use drones.

It is largely for this reason that Russia has long been calling for the creation of its own satellite communications system for the army, so that service members and commanders can be independent of foreign technology.

    Freshly legend .....
I remember how Soviet citizens were promised communism “soon”.

    Name, sister! Name!

    The exact date, please!

The objective of creating such systems was established in 2014 in the provisions of the Russian Federation Military Doctrine. Ten years later, nothing has been done, nor has the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces substantiated this need. Was the Chief of the General Staff awarded the Order of Courage for its carelessness and failure to implement the main guiding document?!

Breaking is better than building. The first step is to shut down the Starlink system over the LBS by any means necessary, and then over Russia and Ukraine. This is the strategic objective—to significantly weaken the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. They haven't been able to develop their own satellite system for a decade, and it's still a long way off.

You have a misconception about the work of BUREAU 1440; the work is already underway. There's just one question at this stage: satellites need to be churned out.

satellites need to be stamped out

The answer to the question "why is there no Russian Starlink" will definitely be found.
And it will be very convincing - no engines, no money, no specialists, no satellites, no elemental base, no government decision, no legislative basis.........

Ground terminals have already started arriving at the Air Defense Forces. A friend of mine there confirmed that his commander has received one and is mastering it.

prior, US citizens have very convincingly lost their lunar flight technology. But the satellites weren't lost, and Americans can boast of satellite communications. smile

The main thing is to make promises. Our president also promises a lot. But he rarely fulfills his promises. But we trust him.

Maybe I should promise something too?
I've already seen news about a "Russian Starlink killer" twice in the media. Like, we'll catch up and surpass him, right now.

What's the big deal? A FAB with a correction module for control centers via Starlink in Ukraine is quite a killer. A couple of strikes and some enemy units are out of control over a significant area.
Well, let's get down to the facts. The launch of the first satellites and testing are proceeding well. A satellite production facility has been built and launched. They promised final acceptance by the end of the year and full deployment to begin in 2026.

        It's clear what they're doing.
Just news about promises under 100. News about individual samples... under 10. About mass implementation... under 1.

In general, Russia has a tendency to first test and begin mass production and then announce the start of development in the press.
Regarding our Starlink-type system, we tested it a couple of years ago, verified it in real-world conditions, and decided to build a factory for these satellites. This was recently implemented. So, satellites and terminals are already in production. A rocket was recently launched (I think this is the third such launch), as stated, in the interests of our Ministry of Defense, which successfully launched some satellites. These are they. So, the formation of a satellite constellation has begun. Besides, the satellites there are very interesting. One of ours replaces several of Musk's satellites in functionality and coverage. So, where a dozen American satellites are needed, a couple of ours are quite sufficient. And we don't need to cover the entire globe yet. And the American ones don't cover everything, only certain populated areas.

It seems the opposite is true. For example, I've heard about the development of various "Starlink killers" three times at different times. Meanwhile, the military is still using the volunteer Starlink from the USA...
The iPhone was also “killed” 3 times (that’s all I’ve encountered).
He himself promised a flight to Mars in 19. To the Moon - in 15.
            etc.

Whether this is widespread or not, the terminals are now starting to arrive in the troops. Full deployment (everyone who needs them will receive them) is scheduled for the first half of 2026, as promised.

I suspect that someone is deliberately writing confusingly there.

            Link:

"Specialists from the G.S. Titov Main Test Space Center supported 15 spacecraft launches from the Plesetsk, Vostochny, and Baikonur cosmodromes, launching more than 40 spacecraft into orbit," the Ministry of Defense reported.

.i.e. our 40+. I looked - there is the same amount on Wikipedia + -

            In and around -

In 2025, the Russian Space Forces supervised the launch of more than 3000 spacecraft into orbit.

That is, others + we withdrew 3000+ in a year...

There were several articles on VO about our satellite systems

It was more important to launch Peresild into orbit for the sake of showing off laughing And I remember Rogozin planned to paint the rockets in Khokhloma style wassat Apparently to improve performance characteristics. Priorities are priorities................ request

First of all, how long is soon?
Secondly, what was stopping you before? Or who?

"We'll give it to you soon":

Who would have doubted it! It will definitely happen in about three years, no sooner. After all, people wait three years for what's promised, and now it's already the fourth.

When is "soon"? They've been waiting three years for what was promised. It's all just talk. The war has been going on for three and a half years already, so it's time to get everything up and running. The main thing is to crow and bark what needs to be done, and then, come what may, dawn may not break.
