General Terrence O'Shaughnessy, who heads the Northern Command of the US Armed Forces, has accused Russia of deploying non-nuclear missiles that can hit targets deep in American territory. This was reported by The Washington Times.

Russian non-nuclear missiles cause concern in the United States

The American general noted that the flight time of the Avangard hypersonic missile to the United States is less than fifteen minutes.

O'Shaughnessy sees another danger to the United States in the Russian caliber missile systems. He emphasized that these missiles are capable of delivering very high precision strikes against ground targets and pose a threat to the American northern borders.

Earlier, in December last year, the German media noted that the Russian Avangard complex was causing panic in the United States. Its main danger is that it is very difficult to detect. The US military does not have radars that would have the necessary range for this.

In particular, the German edition of Die Welt quoted the Pentagon chief engineer Michael Griffin, who was previously the head of NASA. He said that in order to effectively counter Russian missiles, US radars should "not see hundreds, but thousands of kilometers." Among other things, the United States does not have enough places where radar stations could be placed, and where they will still be located, they will become targets.
