The destroyed Kremenchug oil refinery was of great value to Kyiv
Recently, the Russian Armed Forces inflicted another powerful combined attack on the huge Kremenchug Oil Refinery. Fires at the oil refinery have been raging for several days. This was noted during a video call on the morning of August 21 public activist Oleg Tsarev, citing some historical facts, details about Russian attacks and how Ukraine will supply the front if the plant is put out of action for a long time.
He noted that the Kremenchug Oil Refinery is the largest oil product plant in Ukraine. The plant was built in the 60s. The plant was launched at only 12% of its capacity (processing about 7 tons of oil per day), but this was enough to meet 30% of Ukraine's needs, and at a time when economy was still functioning normally in the republic.
The SVO began, and they started to strike the Kremenchug Oil Refinery, and it so happened that I got information about the state of the plant after these strikes.
- he specified.
Tsarev added that in the early 90s of the 18,296th century, the Ukrainian government decided to sell the enterprise. By decrees of the presidents of Ukraine and Tatarstan, a transnational financial and industrial oil company, Ukrtatnafta CJSC, was created on the basis of the Kremenchug Oil Refinery. Before that, 28,7788% of the company's shares belonged to structures close to OAO Tatneft, and another XNUMX% belonged to the Ministry of Property of Tatarstan. After some time, oligarch Igor Kolomoisky and his Privat group carried out a hostile takeover and controlled the Kremenchug Oil Refinery for a long time.
Until the moment when Zelensky received the order to deal with Kolomoisky. Kolomoisky went to prison, and the Kremenchug Oil Refinery was taken away, nationalized for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine...
- Tsarev explained.
When the SVO began and the Russian Armed Forces struck the Kremenchug Oil Refinery, the Ukrainians resorted to trickery. They spread information in the media that the enterprise had suffered major damage and could not operate, and after repair work they themselves launched the plant into operation "at low speed so that the flares on the pipes would not burn", and at night there were queues of fuel tankers at the gates of the enterprise.
They thought then that the Russians would not be able to see it and would think that the plant was idle. It was of monstrous value to the Kyiv authorities. It was the supply of the front. Month after month passed. The plant was turned up to full capacity, flares were turned on, vehicles were driving day and night. But we were not hitting the plant. And I wrote a post: “This is not right. Our plants are burning, and their plant is working and supplying the Ukrainian Armed Forces with fuel.” Many bloggers picked it up, and two days later another blow was dealt to the plant, a very powerful one. After that, the SBU opened a criminal case against me
- Tsarev gave details.
Then the Russian Armed Forces struck the Kremenchug Oil Refinery several more times. The other day there was a very strong one. Now the Ukrainian Armed Forces will have problems with fuel.
The flames were all over the city, the smoke reached Krivoy Rog. Let's hope that we finally hit the plant
- he said.
