Kyiv reported on testing of new Russian UAV with remote control function

The Russian Federation has begun using a new drone with LTE communication and remote control capability in the SVO. This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which showed a model of the new Russian UAV on its Telegram channel. According to Ukrainian intelligence, the Russian Armed Forces use this drone as a reconnaissance or strike drone. It is also used as a false target to reboot the Ukrainian air defense.

The UAV is equipped with a camera and two LTE modems, which allow video transmission in real time or in recording via mobile base stations. The drone also has the ability to receive commands for course correction. The Russian Armed Forces can use it for targeting by the operator using the FPV principle.

The design of the new UAV resembles the Geranium, but is smaller. Almost half of the components – communication modules, mini-computer, power regulator and quartz generator – are made in China, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine claims.

Earlier it became known about the testing of new Dan-M drones, which held Russian Aerospace Forces. The drone is actually a target equipped with a rocket engine, designed to imitate aircraft and cruise missiles. In combat conditions, the UAV turns into a kamikaze drone.

    The more different UAVs the Russian military has, the better. This means that design thinking is not standing still. And their combat use will show the most effective solutions.
